I downloaded the FS-FS2 Port, missions, voice files and all, installed them correctly, but I seem to be missing ships. For example, the Galatea and the Dragon fighter are ulysses class. Anyone know how to fix this bug?
Thanks
-
I suspect you haven't actually installed them correctly. Anyway I'm moving this to their forum so that people who know more about the problem will look.

Alright, I downloaded the latest version/build of the port, version 3.0.4, the missions for both Great War and Silent Threat in vp format, The Training mission vp, both Voice vp's, Command anim vp and extracted them all to my main freespace 2 folder. The game otherwise runs flawlessly, expet for these missing ships
-
This happens to some of the Typhons for me, but only the ones in the last level of Awakenings

Well, there's your problem. All FSPort stuff should be put within a folder titled something like "FSPort". That folder goes in the main folder. You then open the Launcher, and click on the Mod tab, then select the FSPort folder to play it.
-
so the game has to be running SCP for the port to work 100%? for some reason, probably the age of my comp, SCP will not run properly, and ends up screwing the game up to the point where a full purge/reinstall is required.
-
No, the Port is compatible with retail. Your installation procudure sounds correct, but maybe there's a mission problem. Try redownloading the mission pack.
-
Mission pack redownloaded, twice, and the problem persists, its also causing impasses in the game istelf, for example, the miussion where you fly the captured dragon (playing judas i think), when the lucifer jumps in, its aalso a ulysses, and as such, there is no fighterbay to enter to complete the objective.

I'm guessing you have conflicting mods installed. Can you post a screenshot of your FreeSpace2, FreeSpace2/data, and FreeSpace2/data/tables folders?
-
sure thing, i tried installing fs open, but it wouldn't let me set it up properly so I deleted it. Just wondering if that would have any bearing on it. here are the screenshots:

won't fix your problem, but you can safely delete the Installer folder.

Okay, that's very strange. You appear to have everything set up correctly.
Do the ships appear in the tech database?
-
I just checked the Tech database and the following ships appear in the viewer window, but have no text and do not appear in-game properly: GTDs Bastion, Soyokaze, Intrepid, Repulse, and Galatea, The SF dragon(weakened), GTF Loki(stealth), SD Demon(scan), and the SD Lucifer(scan). The SF dragon Terrans is not even in the tech database

Did you install both the 3.0.4VP and the updated mission VP?
-
I got all the latest releases: Freespace port v3.04, and the 3.0 mission pack, if there is a higher version of either that isnt listed on the fsport website, please point me to it.
-
Well, the mission pack was updated at the same time as the 3.0.4 VP was introed, but there wasn't a change to its number. If you redownloaded the mission pack at the same time as you grabbed the 3.0.4 VP, the mission pack should have all the necessary changes.

Hmm... if you want to test your downloaded files, get 7-zip from www.7-zip.org , and after installing it navigate to where you have your downloaded .zip files in Windows Explorer or My Computer, right-click on the one you want to test (or select all of them, and right-click on one to test all). From your Context menu (the right-click menu), go to 7-zip > Test archive. 7-zip will then do a checksum on the files inside the .zip archives and compare it with a checksum generated when the file was created and stored in the .zip file. If they don't match, then the file is corrupt and you must re-download. If you have WinZip or WinRAR, they have similar options available from inside the main window as either a button or from a pull-down menu. This may save you some download time and let you know for sure whether the file you have is the same as the one stored on the server, and eliminates wondering whether you could possibly have a corrupted download twice on the same file. Hope that helps some. :)

FS2_playa613, did you delete the 3.0.3 vp when you downloaded the 3.0.4 vp?
One other possibility is that I could try to diagnose your problem using Remote Desktop.
-
if youre talking about the 3.0.3 build vp, i never had it the only version of fsport i have ever downloaded was 3.0.4, if you look at the FSport site, every "Critical-for-operation" file (like main, mission, and ST vp's) currently shown are the ones that i downloaded.

if youre talking about the 3.0.3 build vp, i never had it
Then why is it in your screenshot?

wierd... i had the main RAR file that i originally got, and it was called fsport_3_0_4 but it contained 3.0.3, i redownloaded it and its the same folder, but now it contains 3.0.4 ... wierd. anyways, as soon as i finish derelict (thx karajorma) ill re-test it and post up the results
-
Nope, I just tried running FSPort with the 3.0.4 VP, instead of the 3.0.3 and now ALL the ships and weapons do not work. I am going to uninstall and reinstall Fs2, and try it again. I hope it works
