Title: retail campaigns?

i was just reading that forgotten legacies thread, and i want to know: can i make a campaign in retail, then convert it to SCP? i'm not sure about even making the campaign if i can't..........

Yes you can. Derelict, for example, was a retail campaign, then it was converted to SCP.

Any retail campaign that has been written properly will work on SCP anyway. You can add SCP enhancements to a retail campaign without too much difficulty.

Of course designing the campaign ground up for SCP would be better as there are a lot of things you can't do in retail that you won't be able to add in an SCP enhanced version without a complete rewrite of the mission.

i'm also gonna release some new ships for this, but only a few. would the player need to upgrade them to work on SCP?

Retail ships/weapons work fine in SCP, unless I am very, very much mistaken.

There was an instance a while back where some of the new ships for Casualties of War didn't work with SCP, but that's the only instance that comes to mind.
