Title: Volition Archives
Post by: throwaway4 on January 03, 2007, 11:27:45 pm
Does anybody have the FS1/2 missions and campaigns that were hosted there?  They're no longer available.  I've check the usual places like Hades Combine and Game Warden, but there are a lot of missing missions.  Thanks!

Hades-Combine doesn't have them because the mission and campaign downloads were ****ed when I tried to get them for Hades Combine (when I went on my "I'm gonna add all mods!" rampage. Who do you think gave HC over 120 downloads? me! :D ). I remember someone hosted them all, but I can't remember who.

Hiya,

The VWArchives can be found via the WayBack Machine.

Linky:
VWArchives from the WayBack Machine (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://archives.volitionwatch.com)

Some of the links to the files much be copied and pasted to your browser, but most of the stuff is still there. Oh ya, some of the zip files may be borked initially, but usually it's nothing that PKZipFix cannot fix. Oh yes, you can get the Second Great War Part II (http://archives.volitionwatch.com/download/fs2mission/GW2Part2.zip) campaign from there, as well. Ey, Kara?

Cordially,
~Selectah

Actually, in terms of mindless "let's blow a whole ton of **** up," it's rather enjoyable.  For instance, I fondly remember one mission where you single-handedly have to take out about 18 or so assorted Shivan cruisers and corvettes.  (Turns out a double Helios more than smashes a Cain to smithereens. :p) However, if you're looking for a coherent story and sensible ship use, it's probably not your cup of tea.
