We're supposed to drool over a (admittedly, well modeled) Star Trek ship?
On the other hand, the procedural nebula in the background is excellent.

Star Wars rocks, but you notice that most Star Trek stuff doesn't have hangars. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Nah. They just have shuttle bays. We know there's fighters: we saw them at Wolf359, around Titan and in that episode where Westley and the team were investigated for a student's death. But we don't see hangars on actual ships, except maybe in books.

[Does not drool]
The shading and texturing are very nice, but the nebula I could do better in Glitterato in a minute, it's lost heavy quality due to compression, and the lens flares for simply everything make it look like they're trying too hard. Stars several trillion miles away would NOT produce lens flares anyhow.

(http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif) I was waiting for you to show up. It's a good render, but I'm no Trekkie. I much prefer SW.

Umm..you never watched DS9 have you? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
*points to the many warships used in the Dominion war*
Many of the older ships shown in there have been modified to carry as many fighters as possible. Especially the Galaxy-class, which had atleast three different revisions. Even the Miranda-class had a couple of revisions. They even brought back the weapons bar.

Well, um, that would be a no. I gave up on Star Trek, for the most part when Next Generation started recycling its own scripts.

Star trek is too squaky clean.
You know even cutting-edge sci fi can become too inflexible to be good for some people?
I personally like farscape at the moment, but thats' just me...maybe i was just aching for something fresh.

Farscape rocks my world, rivalling B5 in my heart. Sometimes the SFX are a touch silly, but its almost always got a great story. Also, they're not afraid to try silly things for the fun of it (like the cartoon episode in John's mind).
Besides, how can you dislike a show with the likes of Zhaan (curvy blue plant girls. Yum.), Aeryn (groovy tough chick) and Chianna (dig that blue grey skin and attitude).

Oh, wow... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) Those procedurals are mighty impressive. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
As for FarScape, I love it too - though yes, the storyline can get a bit quirky sometimes. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
