Meaining, I'll be Away in reserves WithOut Leave to come back home. :p Actually, that's not entirely true, since I'll have 48 hours home at some point, but you get the picture. Anyway, yeah, my reserves run from Jan 8th to Feb 1st, and although I will have internet access via my HTC TyTN, it's cellular access, and I pay for every MB beyond the pre-paid 100Mb data transfer. Ergo, don't expect me around much. If you need to contact me, PM is the way to go - I'll get email notification and get back to you when I can.
See y'all on the other side. :)
-
Try and get photographed with an even bigger gun this time... :D
-
 I'll see what I can do... ;)
-
Possibly a Merkava? :P
-
See you soon. :)
-
You and your Iranian handler really should have come up with a better defection code that writing AWOL in big letters on a public forum. Mossad will be all over that one :p

Does Sandwich drive tanks? :3
-
Sandwich doesn't drive tanks. Sandwich deals with minefields and other explosives. But in reserves, Sandwich just guards in towers, mans checkpoints, and goes on patrols in jeeps.
-
"Jeeps" or Land Rover Defenders?
-
Israeli-made "Storm" jeeps, or, if we're in certain areas of the country, Hummers (Mk 1's).

Heh, 'twas a joke...

Don't die. Oh, and get pictures of really, really big guns.
(And have you found out about SMF's mobile functionality thing? It tears out all the graphics and signatures and such, great for low-bandwidth mobile stuff. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?;wap2 ))
-
Yep, know about that one - thanks. For some reason, however, my SE T630 can't browse that page, although it used to be able to. My HTC TyTN can just fine, however. :)
-
Have a safe trip man, as safe it can be.
And of course bring some good pics with ya aswell :D
-
Am uploading initial pictures as I type this.
F everyone's I, so many guys responded and came to reserves that they were able to split the period up into two halves. I'm out until the 21st, when I go back in for the second half. I love my unit. :D

That M.A.G. looks a lot like the U.S. Army's M240.
-
Far as I can recall they both have the exact same roles in a company.
-
Did my homework. The core components of the M.A.G. and the M240 are essentially the same. That being said it is a very reliable weapon. More accurate than the M60 ever was and far less likely to jam. It was my favorite weapon when I served some years ago. :P
-
Yeah, the good ol' (frikking heavy!) M.A.G. Its role as a squad weapon is being replaced by the Negev (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Negev).

Woa...depending on the configuration it looks more like a SMG :)
-
Still a bit too heavy for that, though. ;)

Welcome to the the HLP Forums. Exits are to the sides and rear. Don't plan on using them though, someone let the hosted projects put all their stuff in there so they're all but inaccessible. In the event of an emergency, flamethrowers are stowed under your seat but due to budget cuts, they are now filled with holy water. There are pulse rifles and assorted heavy weapons in the lockers up front; these can be opened only by admins, a - god, or a hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue. These weapons are reserved for the Apocalypse, bad April Fools jokes, and the mention of eF eS thr33, in that order, so don't get your hopes up about using them. In the event of a water landing, your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device, and you'll find a week's supply of Bosch Beer hidden inside. There's a 95% probability that the beer isn't actually beer, and no one is really sure why you'd need a flotation device in deep space, but hopefully these will provide some small comfort.
Feel free to get acquainted with the place while you're here, and do be careful when exploring the ventilation systems. If you encounter a large 5-limbed creature, don't panic. Just set down your lunch and back away very slowly. If you're lucky it will just be Carl, our resident shivan, who responds quite well to bribes of food. If it's not Carl, and it's in a good mood, at least your death should be quick and painless. If you're particularly unlucky though you might get dragged into a religion or politics thread, in which case may God have mercy on your soul.
allways wanted to do that :P

What, what vyper wrote? It's transliterated, but reverse from what we're used to (i.e. we're used to seeing stuff like "Ma nishma, achi?") - he wrote English words with Hebrew lettering ("WTF is this ****"). How he did that, I have no idea. :p
-
;)
-
He he, it is good that a minor amount of wtf-ness was unleashed.
That was greek, just to emphasize what isn't. Greek-> "Nαι, αυτά είναι ελληνικά"
It is good that you are back, safe and sound Sandwich.
We have "re-training" in Greece as well. A friend of mine wasn't careful enough and nearly got himself killed.

And you see nothing wrong with my Hebrew? Excellent :drevil:
-
Aside from it being transliterated, you mean? :p
-
Copy and paste from your guys' posts FTW.
-
...you know the letters?
-
nope.
Just random ctrl-c/ctrl-v
If it makes any sense at all it is luck.
EDIT: no! no! I mean it's all skill!!! I'm crazy awesome at... ah, speaking languages I've never even heard spoken before!!

You could try to extrapolate the general meaning from the emoticons...

Still impossible. SOMEwhere you had to use some way of knowing which letters made which general sounds. If I read what you wrote out loud, it would sound like somewhat mangled but comprehensible English.
How?
-
I found an on-line transliteration service when I posted that. I can no longer find it, or I would've continued the mystery on a little longer.
:(
