I don't think I've ever posted my art on a FreeSpace related forum, actually. The closest was the DescentBB.

This is something I'm still working on. Advanced (and constructive) critique is encouraged.

Can't say much about it TBH, other than it's nice. Way better than what I can churn out.
The only thing I find odd is the facial expression - doesn't seem to match the pose, but then again it might just be me so don't take it to heart.
Melikes. :)

I did some fine-tuning to her facial expression (I still don't know if it matches the pose though) and fixed up her anatomy a bit.

Here's some progress on the background for her. I like how the sky turned out, though I don't like how the background consumes more space than she does so I might crop it.

I love Illustrator.

Gack... I would love to learn how to use Illustrator if I ever find the time to, so that I can draw my fighters on the PC instead of on paper.
My only problem is my pen tablet - I could probably work better with those pen-tablet-monitor combos (being the pencil person that I am), but those are very costly if I'm not mistaken.
Does Illustrator export to popular 3d modeling formats (like .3ds), if I may ask? If it does, then my next major problem would be to draw my crafts in perfect parallel alignment (for the designs which are indeed parallel)... (http://209.85.12.236/5024/118/emo/bangwall.gif)

I redid the drawing from scratch because I actually didn't like how it turned out.
asyikarea:
I'd recommend using Alias SketchBook, Photoshop or any preferred painting program if you want to draw fighters on your screen rather than on paper.
Adobe Illustrator is meant for vector artwork and graphic designs, such as logos, etc.. As far as I know, it won't export to 3D model formats.

Nifty. :D
SketchBook? Sounds familiar... time for me to scour the 'Net again.

This was my third attempt, done in Corel Painter IX this time. Now this would be the program I'd recommend using with a tablet.

All I can say about that last pic is.....DAAMMNNN!!!!
Wish I could draw like that.
-
Now make her blond and red head. (for some reason I first pictured your sketch are a red head?) :D
-
The last pic is very cool - for some reason I'm a big fan of the bike in the background :D
-
Actually I spent more time on the bike than I should have. It's probably detracting a bit from the focus on the girl in the foreground, and there are still a couple of minor drawing errors, like the front suspension of the bike. In the full-sized version of the drawing the rear suspension is also a bit screwy.
When I designed her I was thinking black hair, ice/water-themed colours (I must've failed this), Ainu design similar to Nakoruru, or the characters in Utawarerumono. That was how I came up with the topic name Ainu In Space--it was derived from a joke someone on an IRC channel made. Some people actually imagined her wearing red rather than blue, etc., and I think somebody even suggested multiple colour schemes like Ganguro.

Lmao, I didn't even see the bike at first.
Nice. :D

I thought I'd revive this thread because I'm doing an update to the same drawing.

I guess that's what taking a drawing course in university can do...
