I'm a professional voice actor, and since i have developed a passion for FS2, i'd very much like to do some voice acting , if anyone would like me.
Im australian, but my accent isnt picked up, and i can imitate almost anyone. I have a deep accent, being that im 23. (Think Lieutenant Samsa, i can imitate his voice perfectly).
-
(Think Lieutenant Samsa, i can imitate his voice perfectly).
I'm sure we'd all get a kick if you uploaded a sample of your rendition of Samsa's "Welcome to Vega, Ensign" speech.

That's Loukakis.
Samsa is the guy who sounds like an announcer from the early '00/late 90's Chevy commercials. And that is a very good thing.
I'm sure the major projects will find use for you. :) If not, I may have a spot open up shortly.

I have been shamed.

Well i can do multiple voices. I am australian, but not thickly accented. One thing i cant properly do is an american accent. I can do european accents, scottish, irish, english, or heavy australian accents.
But most importantly, i can be funny, dramatic, scared, or angry.
Derelict was one of the finest campaigns, but one thing that was EXTREMELY disappointing was the voice acting...it sounded like a bunch of 15 year olds.
-
It was a bunch of 15 year olds. More or less.
Why don't you post an audio file?

This is odd. Maybe it's just because I'm an American, but is there really an "American accent", seeing as how the American tone is composed of dozens of different accents already? (Look at: Midwest, New York, and Boston for examples)

Being australian, they all sound pretty much the same to me.
Anyhow , my mic is broken, but i'll have a new one by next week. Stay tuned for some good voice clips, of my impersonations of some of the commanders from FS2.
Trust me....you wont be able to tell the difference.

I have to disagree. The voice acting had its finest points (Captain Ekestam, Lt Mackie, Tau Sigma Station), but also had its bad ones (Terran Command, Lt Tom Faulkner), IMHO.
Hope you join the cast. I'm looking to do some voice acting myself, but need to find the time first......

Wasn't Ransom Archein one of the voice actors?
I rather enjoyed Derelict. Except for the voice acting (exception: Mackey, thanks Archein, wherever you are). Good plot, good character development. And finally, blowing up things that aren't Shivan (save for Inferno, which is godly enough to always be excepted).

They are all pretty much the same, except for those previously mentioned. As opposed to a British accent, we actually pronounce our r's. And practically every letter. So, it's hard to do an "American" accent, because you have to pronounce everything. Which, for those of you who aren't Americans, is obvious to us Americans because you take your time to pronounce the words. Sounds like a five-year-old overenunciating

I rather enjoyed Ransom (Mackie), Cobra (Alpha 3), and Nix's (Cypher) voiceacting in particular.

Really? I know that we in the Midwest are notorious for taking words like "probably" and shortening them to "probly" (or "totally" to "toally").

I would  if all he did was upload the speech files from the game...

can you do a canadian accent, including the "eh"s? i sure as hell know i can, being canadian. :P

Well ive got my mic. I've made a few clips. Not sure how to upload them onto the forum though. = \
I've done a really good impression of the legendary intro to the 'Into the Lions Den' mission. I think i've done a killer job on it. I'm sure you'll agree. :pimp:
Someone just give me a hand uploading them onto the forum, since im a forum noobie. :sigh:
Oh, and also did a 'Shivans on a Cain bit'.....contains profanity tho. ;7 :drevil:

Right under the reply window is an Additional Options tab. Click it, then add the .zip or .rar into the attachment field.

having trouble making .zip and .rar files. They automatically go into .ace format.
maybe someone else can do it for me......put an e-mail up here and i'll send u some clips, or add me to msn, my msn is [email protected]
Or if you're in need of a good voice actor, just add me.

Many thanks....now just need some people to give some feedback. Be honest and critical, but not rude please. :shaking:

Dive; sounds a bit too much like a German heavy metal band
LtSamsa; less ciggies please, sounds like you're overdoing the gruff voice in a 'game made by Epic' style
something; Er, a bit overdone. I almost laughed, because midway through I was expecting an 'ooooh, crumbs' and a girly scream. I didn't laugh, though, because I'm at work.
toomany; A tone of urgency without sounding urgent. That, and trailed off badly at the end, like you didn't know what tone to finish off with.
I'm sensing a bit of overacting here.

Duely noted. Now, if you reckon you can do better, then go for it. :doubt:

Voice actors are always needed, are they not? Whether or not you can do a perfect impression of existing (and quality) VA isn't really an issue.
Maybe we could get some of, say, INF:A voice-acted? Or Transcend? That'd be great. I'd like to hear some lines from there.

Totally unnecessary. Aldo was only offering helpful criticism; no need to take it offensively.
Personally, I liked the clips, because I see you as having a particularly interesting voice. If you don't try to be overly-dramatic, then I think you'd fit perfectly as a ship commander. To be honest, I'd actually like to hear you try to voice some of the Generation's later lines (from Transcend), particularly the "This isn't over, Omicron!" line. I think you'd work well with that. :)
-
Aye, seconded!
-
Thirded......thats how you say it right? anyway i agree :pimp:

Created, en route.

More clips (http://www.game-warden.com/gti/moreclips.zip)
I personally like the way you wrapped up nebulamind.wav. Sounded particularly evil, which is where I think your strength lies. If you did the "Hello, Omicron" and "Memories never die" lines from Transcend in that exact tone, I think I might actually get chills down my spine.
The omgfuk one, on the other hand, and not to be insulting, I think would belong more appropriately in JAD. It seemed almost a little comical with the way the words were stressed. If you'd like some tips on where they should be stressed, PM me.
"Following" was fairly good as well. The only problem I could see was the stress on "following"; to be more effective, you may want to break up the line into "There's something in this nebula... and it's following us." Given your tone, I think that would sound a whole lot better. :)
I was a little disappointed by the "isn't over" attempt though, but that may have been my perception of the line. I always imagined it being said something like "This.... isn't.... over, Omicron!"
Otherwise, I liked this batch a whole lot better. Keep up the good work. :)

thanks for the feedback man. Yea, regarding 'omgfuk', i intended for that to be comical.
Hope people get a kick out of it. Im sure that perhaps a nazi moderator may critisize it as being abusive, but hey, its not the link, its whats inside the zip file. And it really isnt all that bad. But meh, its in good taste me thinks. :D
As for the 'omicron' lines, its a matter of perception i think.
Anyway, i'll keep working on more lines... i think im getting the hang of it. If anyone wants my talents for their campaigns, PM me

Nazi moderator?

Nazi moderator?
yer....in most forums, theres usually at least 1 moderator that is a psycho and will ban you for the smallest things....
wait a sec...am i signing my own death warrant here? :nervous:
-
Yep, you betcha... oops... :nervous:
-
So no one wants my talents ? :(
I can do some scripting and more tests if u want....
-
Isn't there a centralized thread with stuff like this?
And you'd be better off PMing some campaigns and offering your services.
-
The "more clips" link is broken.
And I agree with aldo; it sounds like you're overacting. Try reading some lines in a normal tone of voice.
-
Commander, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like it if you voice-acted my campaign. It's not much, done by a 16-year-old, but you'd do perfect as the captain of one of my capital ships. I'll try to get you some of the lines from my campaign, but you won't have any until Tuesday, I've got a lot of school work, and I'm out of town this weekend.
-
I may have some need for you eventually as well. Just keep yourself open within the next couple of months. :)

No probs. I've got another FS2 campaign im working on (Its under wraps, quite a few people working on it, but expect it to just explode out onto the forums soon  ) but yer, i'll be happy to help man =)
But anyhow, some of the voice acting -was- a tad bit overdone, yea. But if i was given a script, and told what kinda voice i was expected to do (panicky, commanding, gruff, young, etc) then i could pull it off for you no probs.
-
Still available....
p.s is there any way to create new vasudan voice?
-
Yes.
-
Hmmm... we might have a place for you in Blue Lion's campaign. if i can ever get ahold of him i'll let him know.
-
Oki doki.
