Yeah, but we're to lazy to help if you're to lazy to post in the right forum!  :p

I tend to agree. Anyone too lazy to even bother to find the right forum is unlikely to help you much in troubleshooting their problem.

Hell even the help request was lazy. No indication of what the problem actually was. No specs for the PC in question. Just it doesn't work.

For a moment I thought of just closing this topic instead of moving it to the correct board, you see, moving a topic is so bothersome for someone as lazy as me.

My FS1 came with my IBM ThinkCentre, and I got it working on XP by installing IBM ViaVoice.

That's all the help I can give you.

If you want, you can just install the FreeSpace Port instead of FS1.

My FS1 installs and runs under win98, 2000, xp, xp tablet, and vista... so I have no idea what your problem is...

I have no idea what your problem is...

That's exactly my issue with this thread. There are some XP problems I can solve in under a minute flat if I know that it is the problem.

Saying it doesn't work tells me nothing.

Theres no error file anywhere. But the proplem is that the fs1 wont start after autostart. Cd check gows on but thats it. Thats the all happens. I thing it was some of my security programs but none, i take all down but still no. Thats all i now atm
.

Have you actually managed to install FS1? If not, have you checked whether your discs are damaged/scratched?

Worst comes to worst, download the three original discs + silent threat from Nuke LOL's site; mount em with Daemon Tools. I have no problem doing that with FS2. Oh you might want to setup the game using software for sound; hardware rarely worked for me--it would become extremely buggy, annoying, etc.
