The Term "Priority" shows up often in FRED. Some ask for single digit, such as to set what ships are in the escort list, and some ask for double digit, such as ship or wing orders. My question is, is a "higher priority" a higher numerical value or a lower numerical value, or is it not consistant?

Any ship marked as an Escort Ship will show up in the Monitor Display on the right side of the player's HUD. There is only room for three ships here, so FreeSpace 2 will pick the three escort ships with the highest priority values.
Since that one is the only one I can thing of that defaults to single digit I would say it's pretty consistent. The higher the number the higher the priority. I know it seems backwards for escort ships as you would think priority 1 would be the most important. Is there some specific item you are asking about?

No just everything in general. If anything were to be "priority one" I would expect it to be the escort since its only single digit but thanks for answering my question. ;)

You can actually use double digits in the escort list. Hell you may even be able to use triple. I've never tried as I've never needed to.

Triple works. I use percentages of 100 for all of them.

Does more than 100 work? Cause if not that's a pretty bad FREDding practice

In general, a higher number is more "important" with any FRED priority value. It's sort of counterintuitive, but that's how it works. :p

Well at least its consistant. :)
