Title: Fighters accelerate when turning?
Post by: aRaven on January 24, 2007, 04:26:07 am
Hi!

I've noticed something wierd when playing 3.6.9. When I turn my fighter harshly, it accelerates instead of decelerating as it was in retail. Can someone confirm this and what can be done to correct this?

Dunno if there has been actual changes in the physics..

But currently the numerical speed gauge shows you the total length of your velocity vector which - as the max speed limitation affects only the velocity in direction of the ships front orientation - may reach much higher values despite the fact that the velocity in front direction is decreased when maneuvering as seen from the 'speed bar' on the hud (speed bar tracks the current velocity in the front direction).
