Title: questions
Post by: Viper01 on January 28, 2007, 06:14:57 pm
Is there any way to change the default support ship from Terran to Vasudan in FRED1? Also, how do you create directives? And is there a way to change the default command and wingman messages from Terran to Vasudan? Any help is appreciated.

1. You'll have to edit ships.tbl to do that.  If you've never done that before, it's not that hard.

2. Make an event checking for something like the destruction of a wing of ships.  Then fill in the directive text.  Open up a FS1 mission to see how :v: did it.

3. For Command, no... not unless you get a voice actor to make you some Vasudan lines. :) For wingmen, you'll have to change the persona of every fighter to Wingman 6.

Are you making a Vasudan campaign?

Thank you very much. In fact, I'm doing an alternate ending to the HOL. In campaign 1, you fly as an HOL pilot, one of the last of the HOL. You set up a base of operations in a newly discovered system and rebuild the HOL fleet. In campaign 2, you fly as a Terran pilot on the Bastion. First you eradicate the HOL once and for all, than you focus on the shivens. Once again, thank you for the help.

You're welcome. :)

How many missions will be in these campaigns?  If this is your first project, you might want to start small.

I recommend you to start with small projects...You can't imagine my conditions...

I've already done a 'trial' campaign, so I feel pretty confident with my skills. I'll probably go back and improve on the campaign as I learn more, but for now I'm going to simply try to just get the missions to work with the story.

Don't worry, if I have a question, I'll ask.
