Title: Some of us like gay music

I'd really like to know what method they're using to determine musical homosexuality.

One of the most dangerous ways homosexuality invades family life is through popular music. Parents should keep careful watch over their children's listening habits, especially in this Internet Age of MP3 piracy.

There's just something about these religious kooks that never gets old. Truly, the internet would be a far duller place without them.

Censorship is alive and well in America

As an alternative to MySpace and YouTube videos my technical people have come up with a solution. Whereas, to wit, many record companies would not want you to copy their products we have decided to make ours available for you to copy and share with your friends. We do this as a conscious and purposeful action to preserve our Freedom of Expression. BitTorrent is a program, they tell me, which will allow you to download our media without using the enormous amount of expensive bandwidth that a large company like MySpace would use and that only they can afford. The technical guys also found a website called Creative Commons which will let us share our works with you in a fair way that does not give away all of our rights in our performances. The technology the record companies call a tool of "piracy" is the only thing allowing us to exercise our Constitutional Guarantee of Liberty.

I love this. He posts all this on his website and then posts a list of songs you should censor

I played in a band with 3 'poofs'. They were some of the nicest people and best musicians I've ever worked with. If you think someone's sexuality defines what sort of music people write then I'd look at the difference between, say, 'Lily of the Valley' by Queen and 'Surprise, you're Dead' by Faith no More :)

Edit : I'd also like to add that there are members of this very forum who are not Heterosexual and any more disclamations like that may result in the thread ending up locked.

By strange co-incidence I got this through the (usually pretty quiet) ELO mailing list this morning. May I introduce you all to ... SHE-LO. Hairy bikers in drag performing ELO's heart breaking ballad Telephone Line. Enjoy.

PS: Yes drag queen/cross dresser != gay. I know so don't lecture me :P.

Jesus the holy cow?  That's a new one.  Doest thoest worshipest thine holyee uddersth?

(presumably, 'gays in the female form' is right up - or is it down - your alley, then?)

Well the bible only complains about lesbianism once as opposed to all the times it complains about male homosexuality.

It could be that God likes hot dyke action and it's just Paul ruining it for the rest of us.

Gay men are awesome - some of the nicest guys I've ever met have been gay. This whole "lesbians are ok but GAY ARE EW OMG OMG OMG!" is some of the most backward bull****e I've ever heard - it's a double standard that people admit to openly and freely.

Gay men are just as bad as everyone else. It's a double standard for them too - the amount of bile I've heard about lesbians does make you wonder whether sexual hypocrisy is built in to most people.

Actually when I went to see Scissor Sisters in Manchester I estimate 90% of the audience were gay, and wearing pink. It was a lot of fun too if you left your testosterone at the door on the way in.

Jesus was a big fan of Strap On Sally, wasn't he?

Mind you, thinking about it - always wore white robes, spent all his time with 12 men not out on the piss (y'know, the whole water into wine thing would be handy for Saturday nights, not to mention pulling the laydees), no kids despite being the big-daddy in a time with no prophylactics....

So maybe you just don't like their music and it has nothing to do with their sexuality?

Or are you claiming that every tune ever written by a heterosexual was good?

It's ok to admit he's confused you, y'know.  No shame in it.

What about bisexual music, though?  What happens if, say, Elton John decides to become heterosexual?  Or, indeed, one of your preferred artists happens to come out of the closet?  Or, what if you like a 4 piece band, and the (i.e.) drummer or singer is gay but the rest aren't?  I mean, you'd need a very pronounced gaydar to decide in that case.  Of course, they do say homophobia is often a mask for latent homosexual urges.....
