Cool ship venom2506, as for the background it needs a little more quality in detail.

Keep up the good work  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Oh she's pretty, Venom.

For the record, I can get the Arcadia into Iwar2, but I'm having to reapply the textures by hand. 3dExporation didn't export the map data in a way that Lightwave would use.

Oh yes, and that's my new background.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

You're using Lightwave 5.6? All later versions will support the kind that 3D-Exploration outputs...

ACtually, I'm using LW6.5. For some reason, 3dEx exported it from cob with no textures. Quite annoying. I'm going to try to have Truespace save it as a 3ds object and then have LW load that and see what happens.

You sure you got "Save texture maps as ..." clicked?

Good question. I'm not sure, really, as 3dEx expired on me and I'm not sure yet that I want to register it. Too many other things to spend money on. Like a Cougar HOTAS rig.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Wow! That is nice!! Love the design.

But I agree the background needs a little more work.

Actually, I think the backgraoud is near-perfect - it makes it seem like the render was actually a picture taken with a camera that had a short focal length, so that the subject of the picture is in focus, while the background is slightly fuzzy.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I like.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I still think a sharper background would be better.

Of course, each got his/her own tastes. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

It should. The Arcadia is Harlock's ship. Harlock and Starblazers are from the same creator. He's got a penchant for making spacecraft that look like old Earth naval warships.

Looks extremely good!

Just one question: how did you make that background?
