Aside from the extremely woman in the foreground, well... it doesn't look like a recruitment poster. At all. Sorry mate, try fewer and uglier colors, simpler, less flowery fonts, and an overall more armylike look- something that doesn't just say "Join the GTVA", something that says "Hee yaw! I's a'goin te join the ar-may and shoots me some durn aliens!" I could scan in a few modern ones to show you, but it wouldn't do any good.
