Title: A mini comic strip doodle (4 panels)
Post by: Unknown Target on February 05, 2007, 09:55:59 pm
Well that model I made is being a ***** and not converting properly, so I decided to do something else with it, and I needed to test out my tablet again. So this is the result :)

It's too small to read.

EDIT: It's still to small. Although I guess that's to be expected when dealing with UT. :P

Watch it, or I'll rip out your lungs and use them as snorkels :p

I really liked those ships, from what little you can see because its too dark, can you post a better picture of them ? Otherwise its a good comic strip, good work.

agreed, it is a bit on the dark side (plus where's the stars!) plus red text =
on the plus though, very good composition, i like the impact fires, very stylistic and simple, great ship design

What would have been a better text color to use? I couldn't figure out what to put, considering the background is black. :) The stars are there, though the JPEG compression probably nuked them :D

Sarafan: The ships are ones that I've posted here before.

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/UnknownTarget/morecoloredcompilation.jpg) is the one that I'm currently trying to put into FS2,

and

is an older model I did before :)

i like the ships, very cool mix of streamline and boxy.

As for text colours i enjoy yellow  and White for Space background contrast

There's about four more panels after this one, but I wanted a critique of what I've done so far. I'm still trying to get a handle on this style of doing this stuff, and this being my first comic ever, that makes it doubly hard :D

C&C?

Yes, there will be dialog. It's just not in yet :)

Still too small and dark.

Too dark, that is getting in the way to understand whats going on.

This is the pretty much final thing (minus sound effects - not sure whether or not I'm gonna do those), I really hadn't planned to continue it much farther. I'm exploring the possibility of actually doing this as a webcomic, but I don't know if I'll have the time :)

Anyway, cheers - this is a huge file (5000 pixels x like 2500 or something, 432kb), so 56K beware! :)

EDIT: Trying to upload a full size file so it's easier to see...but have you guys tried bumping up your monitor brightness? I can see it fine on several computers...

Here's (http://game-warden.com/bsg/staff_images/UT/WholeComic.png) the full-size :) - watch out! It's 4.35 megs! :)

i like it.  you should still try making it brighter, but I'm interested in seeing where this goes...

edit: good call with the white text  :pimp:
