Title: Video trouble
Post by: Logrus on February 06, 2007, 04:00:27 am
Switched videocard from X700pro to 7600GT AGP and got following problems:
1. Cannot see .avi cutscenes ingame (but can hear them)
2. Those beautiful reflections on ship hulls vanish. At thirs they are visible in Database, but when I try loading any mission they disappear. (Not show in database afterwards either).
Tried 3.6.9 release, 91.47 and 93.71 drivers.

Hmm... Do you have DivX toolbar installed? it might cause the avi issue (IIRC).

Link to older thread with a bit similar issues...

No, I don'r have any Divx Toolbar. Intend downloading .ogg cutscenes. Will it help?
As for missing reflections -- I found, that it happens only in nebula missions.

.ogg cutscenes should fix your problems.

Well, original .WME are operational, so I'll use them for now. Yet, reflections problem persists -- sometimes they work, sometimes -- not. Any ideas?

Env and spec maps don't work in nebula missions.  It's an issue with how fogging works, and isn't going to be fixed.

Not just in nebula. Last time they turned off in "Sicilian defense".

That is explained by what I wrote, anything else is news since you are contradicting your previous statement.

If you are using D3D then that is your problem for other missions.  Otherwise you need to post a screenshot of the problem so that we can try and figure out what's going on.
