Shouldn't there be a person flying it?  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Looks like somebody left the master battery switch on...

The 1st Sergeant is gonna have a COW when he has to find somebody to slave-start the damn thing, not to mention trying to locate a FILL device to get the radios working again  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

I told you that It ("http://www.jskgames.homestead.com/files/home.html") would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...

Any chance of seeing a textured version of that cockpit?

That would be cool

------------------
have you ANY idea of how much trouble you're in?
assault on a police officer.
Theft of police property.
Illegal possesion of a firearm.
FIVE counts of attempted murder.
That comes to...

twenty-nine dollars and 14 cents.
cash, cheque or credit card?

It's the Empire, man! Do you think they even let their pilots get in those things without walking through a carwash first? Nooooooo! Not like those dirty, unclean, rebel scum! The Empire's stuff is never dirty - did you see the size of that trash compactor? They throw away a lot of trash!

TIEs never get a chance to become dirty, they are shot down before  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

Unless you played the game TIE Fighter (Lucasarts), I hated the speech in that

Good.... shot.... Alpha.... one..... target... de...stroyed...

Hey man, don't diss TIE's. A good TIE Interceptor pilot can take down an X-Wing any day.

But a good X-Wing pilot can probably take out more then one TIE  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

If it had to be then there would be only the good ol' Xg- 1 Starwing Assault Gunboat  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Though personally I think they should have never come up with the idea, the über-Tie Fighter, the Tie Defender, BEATS ALL!!!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

But it's cheap. The Interceptor is fun to fly!

Excellent work MasterJ, really good detail.

The only thing I don't like about it is the trails coming off the interceptor in front but that's a minor point.

For some reason, I always prefered the good ol' Tie Fighter. I mean, you know you can get killed EASY in it, but when you're playing a damn hard mission, and survive in a Tie Fighter! You know that you're the king of the skies! Though the Tie-Interceptor is also kickass.

TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors kill *** . TIE Defenders kick ALL asses.

Shields, 4 laser cannons, 2 ion cannons, missle lauchers that can hold either proton torpedoes or concussion missiles and speed that is faster than an A-Wing.

That's why it's called a super-fighter... The T/I is the only TIE that I *accept* It's fast and heavy armed, just as an interceptor has to be, (unlike I'm fast but can't scratch a TIE Bomber A-Wing)
The TIE Fighter can only impress with numbers, a single ship is nothing but a targeting practice for Rebel pilots.

TIE Fighters are still very, very deadly.

Yes, when you have many of them. But a single TIE against a single A/B/X/Y/whatever- Wing would almost ever loose, unless there is a REALLY good pilot sitting in this TIE or the Rebel ship is piloted by some game AI...

If I was in a T/I vs X-W matching, I'd pick the T-I. T-I outmaneuvers X-W, once they get past that forward pass (all it needs is some easy corkscrewing, and a hope that the enemy has no conc missiles, to evade the threat, avoiding the relatively slow laser bolts) it pulls up behind the X-W and well bye X-W.
A-wing: A-wing  has only 2 lasers, and it takes at least 3 to destroy a T-I in a single hit. Still, this is a more even fight than the X-W.

B-W: It's a bomber/heavy assault fighter. It loses, unless the T/I pilot is stupid enough to get in front.
Y-W: Like the B-W, except worse.

I think the E-Wing and some of the newer fighters are where the T/I fails..but that's what with have the T/A for.
Damn, I need to play XWA again.

I agree with you. I was rather talking about the standard TIE Fighter, that is about as maneuvrable as an X-Wing, but without shields and only half the weaponry of an X-Wing.
