Title: Missing mission (and a bug?)
Post by: TrenchardsLoveSock on February 08, 2007, 03:38:28 am
The other night I was trying to get through ' A Game of TAG' without losing the Warspite or Lucidity.  After a few unsuccessful goes I quit for the night.
Tried again last night and the mission has disappeared!!  A search of the forums leads me to believe that I accidentally chose to skip the mission at some point, DOH!  I can't even do it through the simulator because it's not there either.

Can I 'tweak' my pilot file in some way?  The fact that I have an incomplete mission is killing me!

As for the 'bug':  the first two waves of Shivans get taken out by the Warspite when I've TAGged them but after that, nothing.  I hit ships from the remaining waves, they move like they've been hit and the targeting brackets go yellow but the Warspite does nothing.  Is it scripted like this, or am I just being a biff?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You're too far from the Warspite/Lucidity. You need to be within 1500 IIRC for them to be able to hit anything.

Just maintain visual contact with the cap and tag away.

As for replaying the mission, if you hit ctrl+shift+s (or something to that effect) in the tech room under single missions, you should be able to see all of them and then choose it from the list.

Or edit the campaign file to restart at the previous mission.  There's an example of how to do that somewhere on here.

Blackdove's way is way easier.

Yes if you just want to play the missions.  If you want to contiue the campaign from that mission then you need the campaign file modified.

From what he said, he skipped the mission. He'll still be able to continue the campaign.

There is only one way this dilemma can be solved.

DANCE FIGHT!

Guess you win because I'm forbidden to ever attempt dancing.  Insurance just won't cover it.   :D

Please DON'T dance on my behalf!

Thanks for the help, I was getting drunk at a wedding this weekend so I haven't had a chance to try either method yet.  Just to expand on the problem:  I "think" I skipped the mission, but as I was quitting because I had fallen asleep playing, I could've done just about anything.

I'll probably give the campaign editing a go so that my pilot is not branded as a mission skipping coward for all time!

Thanks

Yeah, most people don't notice that the game takes pity on them after they fail too many times and are frustrated that they're getting their ass kicked, so they're hitting buttons as the menu tells them it feels sorry for em.

If you want to be hardcore like me, for any blemish whatsoever that you didn't manage to correct by replaying a mission, you will play the campaign from mission one.

I must've completed the mother ****er over 120 times by now.
