Im willing to bet they didnt even bother to configure it, or someone else did/did it poorly.  But it makes for good video indeed.

That's pretty amazing!

I agree.  An amazing failure.  I'm sticking with XP's voice recog software.

it doesn't seem to handle capital letters very well, but other than that it's realy not that bad.

It would of been a hell of a lot easier if it wasn't code.

Yes, because why would anyone ever want speech recognition for doing work?  Why, speech recognition is only ever intended to be used when talking to insane supercomputers on missions to Jupiter....

Whilst there are obvious advantages from the accessibility point of view, I have never encountered a speech recognition system that was faster than just bloody typing ;)

I've never bothered with voice recognition because I know that anything from me would start out as unintelligible garbage interspersed with deletes and backspaces before rapidly turning into a obscene and vitriolic attack on Microsoft.

So much like any other comments from me then. :p

The Speech package in XP sucks horribly to the new Speech package in Vista.  I tried dictating a paper I was going to write in XP and ended up wasting more time, trying to make it recognize my speech and such.  In Vista, when you actually DO the tutorial, it's worlds apart from XP's engine, meaning that it WORKS.

So basically, it's up to the level DragonSpeak and IBM's ViaVoice were about 10 years ago? Nice. :doubt:
