Title: Texture Maps help needed

Does anyone know any tutorials on making maps or can offer me some advice/help on making them. Thanks for any help you can provide  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif).

Actually, it doesnt. I get how to make the sides bits but i dont know how to combine them to make a full texture map.
