im making a mod. for those who wish to join read the outline of the might be story (or else you might join and it ends up your missions follow a different plotline from the rest):

15 years after the NTF was crushed and the shivans were driven away for the second time, things were slow at the GTVA. pilots were quitting because they were tired of just not doing anything. most of them were vasudans. remaining terran pilots have been laughing at the vasudans, and one can only guess that would make them angry.

now a large rebel vasudan force has formed, and is going against the GTVA for unknown reasons. all we know is that they are being led by some one called "k'chokk". this force has been designated the RVA (rebel vasudan army) as they possess no self-given official name. we must stop them at all costs before they complete stop us! good luck pilot!

sounds FS3ish, huh? well its not. more like FS2 and a half. i cant make 50 new ship desings and 45 missions on my own, and then make all that usable! so i need your help!

now recruitng:

FREDers
ship desingers, or anyone who can model for that matter.
artists
whoever can do a decent table entry
texture artists
a coder or two if new non-SCP made feutures are going to exist
story writer (prefferably dedicated Freespace fan)

join today! see how the freespace story might have turned out! and most importantly, give people bored with other mods something to play!

ps: axems SC lamia and GTC cretheus will be used with full credit to him. (and his name in the credits to)

ship desingers, or anyone who can model for that matter.
artists
whoever can do a decent table entry

And what do you plan to contribute yourself?

EDIT: Hmm.  This is more or less the same thing as what UT said, only differently phrased. :)

Yes, I've seen it happen before. Somebody makes a story, and that's all they do for the project. Perhaps takashi is a bit more talented than that, however.

And this could be easily done without coding in new features and without making 50 ships for only 45 missions. Perhaps you've heard of Inferno, takashi? Yeah, that was ambitious. I don't think you want to do another Inferno.

If you surfed Game Warden you'd see that he's rather, ahem, "well-known" there, and not necessarily for the best of reasons.

im quite a bit talented with FRED. and it already includes ships, but a new game needs original ships/weapons. just wait till you see the first screenshots.

finished stuff (all the ships are hi poly):

NEW vasudan stealth fighter!
NEW fighter mounted beam weapon!
NEW cargo containers!

WIP stuff:

herc 5
unnamed terran assault ship(57%)
a new cruiser (23%)
a few stream/pulse weapons(5%)
suprise crossovers(10%)
the demo (25%)
a few table entrys (34%)
various missles (10%)

thats took half a month, so you can see why im looking for help.

Ah, the stuff you boast you have but no one has ever seen. Just like the super 40k poly ship that you couldn't get images of and which "disappeared" in a harddrive crash.

Well, it IS a "stealth" fighter. You're not supposed to see it.  :P

And to think I told you how to edit ships tables only yesterday (someone kick me!)  ::)

How do you know the beam weapon works for you? Are you taking the creator's word for it or have you actually tested it yet... Not everything pre-made always works like you think it will (I'm living proof!)  :D

The Public demands screenies! Also glad you stopped calling it FS3 on GW and now call it ? 2.5, good for you!

Actually FS2.5 is still a pretty arrogant name choice for any mod.

Why in the hell do you need 50 mods for that kind of a storyline? You could do it with exactly zero mods if you tried.

Get yourself a free account at Imageshack ..... hit printscreen a couple of times, and post the pics here so we can see what you have made. I have yet to see anyone get much interest in a mod without some evidence that it actually has some content. If the stuff looks good, people might get interested.

Any potential mod leader should be able to demonstrate his skills before others will commit their time. Otherwise, you are a man with a dream that will never happen.

first: shiv, show me what you can do! FRED a mission and give it a storyline based off of  the one provided in my post. if the story and the mission are great, you might just get two jobs!

everyone else: screenshots will be shown on game warden. right after i perfect the fighter-mounted beam weapon.

(im goood at making weapons and basic ships.tbl entrys from scratch, but its nice to have two people on one job, especials when working with 25+ files)

You want to join me? Okay... After relasing Apocalypse III - It's chapter one I'll be making Apocalypse IV - chapter two. We'll heav two+ new species, a lot of new weapons and ships tbls to do. If you want you can join us today and help in making final tables(it's not balanced yet and we must check it for bugs).


Working with A IV we'll start soon after relasing A III
