It was up a moment ago. Server might be screwy. Looked rather interesting thou. I was uploading Mik's Excal desktop so I didn't take as close a look as I wanted to this time.

OK it's back now  lol

I like it thou...vaguely like a Herc.

Only things I could suggest:

1: Touch up the cockpit a slight bit most of the model appears smooth but the cockpit's angular.

2: More details on the texture would finish this off veeeeeeeeeery nicely  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Great looking fighter thou  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

It reminds me of a Herc crossed with an Apollo, with a bit of an Athena. I like it.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Nice, but you do know you need tri-views for all render contest entries.

Oh wow, that looks nice.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) If you can't get a tri-view rendered though, I'm sure Shrike could still consider it...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Well, if there are extenuating circumstances...

If you'd like, one of us can take a look at the mesh to see if we can find the glitch.

hmmmmmmm ok possibly an embarassing moment - it might jsut have beena  shadow - but i'm not sure from where but with the light from an different angle it looks fine - there is still something though - perhaps i just need to smooth it abit - its abit low poly cause i wasn't quite sure how to get the shape i wanted so i droped the points manually and then made it by hand -anyway i cant quite seem to figure out why bits render wrong sometimes and are fine at others  - its lightwave object if you can work with that i would still liek to send

Gorgeous design. She's a little narrow in the neck, and I think the nose might be too long and perhaps drop to far.

Other than that, though, she's sexy. I like the hull texture, btw.

1578 poly 1050 without the guns - terrible waste but nevermind its not for a game at least not yet - took me about 3 hours to make then about 2 days meddling to get it this far - still nto got it perfected - and its only surfaced not textured texturing is an area i'm very new too and trying to create convince maps is difficult =( but that does for now - anything else you want for it to be considered in the contest?

I love it, just like Mik... I think the hull textures suit it perfectly, though I guess they could do with some more distinct bits, but I wouldn't mind if you left it as is. I only just realised now how far the nose extends forward, and I think it looks a bit too far - personally I think it looks slightly off balance, like it would topple forward if balanced near the 'middle' of the craft - but hey dude, it's your ship. I think it's stunning.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Setekh's right. Its got gorgeous texture to it (is that a procedural?). What you could do is keep the texture and add bump channel to it, something to give it distinct hull plate seams.
