Title: I need a landscape from TBP
Post by: mr.WHO on March 02, 2007, 03:52:44 am
I was looking for separated landscape model but with no luck. The only landscape I found so far is in TBP (which I currently do not posses).

1) Could someone who has TBP could extract it for me (I mean pof, textures and .btl entry)? I don't want to D-load such large file only for model.

2) Do anyone know where I can find more ladscape models (with more interesting stuff like hills, mountains and canyons to fly in - TBP landscape is quite flat) ?

3) Does gravity works in SCP ?? if yes then how to use it and does AI (fighters/bombers) is not too stupid to fly in such condition?

It don't need to be very high textured, I'm planning to put it with nebula & storm effects to simulate mission in Venus atmosphere.

But it need to have interesting structure like hills, canyons, cliffs ect. (something where I can make good manuvering).

Anyway here is a FRED question:
I set "affected by gravity" for one ship, but it looks like it isn't affected in any way.
How to set gravity direction & power?

The gravity feature does nothing at the moment.

You could extract it using VPView32 and PCS (to convert from pof to cob).

The problem is that I'd have to spend 8 hours to D-load TBP release :( to find less than 1 mb files.

That's why I'm asking someone with TBP to extract it.

Well, i've been trying. I think I need a bit more ram though. I open the file with vp view and it freezes up then closes before I can view any of the files.

I've got 2 gigs of ram though, so maybe that isnt it. Unless someone else gets it up, i'll try on my desktop and see if I can get the file opened... unless my vp file has a problem, and that is why it wont open.

Try it with VPView 1.3 instead of VPView 2.0 beta.

I had that trouble as well, but karajorma helped me out. to do different landscapes just retexture the model
