Title: Who the mind behind the modeling of the FS ships?
Post by: NickM on March 03, 2007, 01:29:53 am
I have to admit the ships (terran, vasudan & shivan ) all have a unique look to them: the Terrans look kind of 'conventional'; the Vasudan ships almost look like they're styled on Egyptian artifacts (See the Stargate Movie/TV shows to see what I mean) but the Shivans...now THEY look REALLY "alien"-Organic & "arthropod-ie": a little bit of 'arachnid' (the Moloch--and the Lucifer, which oddly looks like a mantis shrimp!)  a little bit sea cucumber or coral (the Cain & Lilith classes with their branching arms)--but to tell the truth they look an awful  LOT like the  "Shadows" from 'Babylon 5'; so...who's responsible for the modeling of the ships & did he/she ever talk about what inspired their designs?

TIA

Was wondering if there was an interview & if said artist ever said where he got the ideas for the physical appearance of the ships;
