I just talked to Noise and he said, "if all goes according to plan, and I can't see why it won't, then they can expect Op. Avatar before the end of March". Meaning you can probably expect it by the end of March since he has more free time until spring break is over.

Is he releasing it separately from the rest of Ch. 5, then? Cause I heard no mention in there of "The Nightmare War".

Read the previous posts. Ch. 5 is bigger than expected and was split in multiple parts.

Does anyone know where the SCP version of Hammer Falls or Hammer Falls, for that matter, is? I'm not finding it on Hades Combine.

I don't believe we ever put it up for download at HC...

Here is the SCP-ified Hammer Falls. (http://rapidshare.de/files/28052351/HF-2.rar.html)

Felt that it was high time that I posted.  I test played Operation Avatar from beginning to end and found that the whole thing was way too easy.  This did not go over well with me to say the least.  So in the interest of providing the best campaign possible, I scrapped the last four missions and have since finished two new ones in as many days with two more nearly completed.  Unless life throws me the King of All Curve Balls, then Operation Avatar v2.0 should be waiting to SCP'd by the end of the month.

Cheers :)

Are you taking in consideration a nice voice acting?
Title: Re: ITDoH News
Post by: Mobius on March 22, 2007, 07:11:06 pm
Noise can't do everything by himself...
Title: Re: ITDoH News
Post by: Game_Master64 on March 22, 2007, 07:23:23 pm
personally, i dont believe ITDoH needs to be voice acted, it's just that good.
Title: Re: ITDoH News
Post by: Dark Hunter on March 22, 2007, 10:43:09 pm
Voice acting would add too much realism. I think one of the best things about ITDOH is its atmosphere of surreality (that is a word, right?). Voice acting would ruin that aspect.

I'm evil.  Op. Avatar just got a little more interesting.  All I can say along those lines is to make sure you guys understand how to use your wingmen effectively.  I told you guys that I was making the missions more challenging and I think I accomplished that.  I was stressed to pull the mission objectives off, and I know whats going to happen.

Anywho, the campaign is on schedule.  Cheers

ah well, harder is better. if i dont get it after the 4th try i'll just cheat or skip. im assuming this will be ready in a few weeks, if it is truly on scedual

Don't worry.  I'm working very hard on these missions, and like I said, only the King of All Curve Balls would derail my progress.

Post by: Game_Master64 on March 30, 2007, 05:27:34 pm
i was thinking the same thing. whats the order of the campaings in this chapter? is opt. avatar before or after the hammer falls
Title: Re: ITDoH News
Post by: Noise on March 30, 2007, 08:38:37 pm
Op. Avatar is after The Hammer Falls, as for tempting fate,,, explain.
Title: Re: ITDoH News
Post by: Game_Master64 on March 30, 2007, 10:28:09 pm
by saying only the mother of all curveballs or what ever you said, your basically asking for it to happen and completly screw you over, such as a computer crash or something along those lines.

Great news jippie soon another ITDoH chapter........

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED ITDoH
Just a question if OP Avatar (Thats the new one rigth) is after The Hammer Falls (The one with HOL Right) then what happend between the last chapter (4 I think) And Hammer Falls, cause in the final chapter you come across some GTVA forces that was staioned on the other side of GTVA space or something like that???????

Between Chapter 4 and Hammer Falls is the Nightmare War.

Speaking of which, is there any progress on that front?

I'm having story line issues with The Nightmare War, the whole thing just doesn't "feel right" at the moment.  Don't worry, I'll be at work rebuilding an ERYX launcher and then the solution will hit me.

Something tells me that you swithced the powersupply from 230V to 130V or the otherway around, if you had an old powersupply then you might have damadged your motherboard but if you managed that same feat with a new one the safty would just have gone off

(RE: High Max's high voltage frying boards)

That's happened to me a couple times at work because of a miswired power cable.

All I'll say is... at least you don't have to deal with defective capacitors. :p

Actually, I was already having a problem with the motherboard before that and it is a new power supply. Safety won't go off and only the motherboard will suffer since it is more sensitive to voltage compared to the other components. After having that problem, I was trying to get it to work so I flipped that switch to 230v thinking it needed more power. I didn't know that it could damage it until a friend of the family who is a computer tech looked at it and told me about the motherboard smelling like burnt plastic :D

The switch on back just changes what the PSU is suppose to get in from the wall plug not how much it supplies to the computer.  :doubt:

Post by: Mad Bomber on April 07, 2007, 06:47:07 pm
Yeah, if it actually gave the mobo the full 230V, you'd need a fire extinguisher nearby.  :nervous:

Well if you have an old AMD processor (dont remeber their names but in the 700-800Mhz range) if you run it at full load and then removes the cooler it will burn up (well not with flames) cause it has no shut off switch for the heat.

But something tells me we shoulden fill this tread with this.........................

I'm not releasing the whole length and width of Chapter 5, just Operation Avatar.  Although I haven't been able to find it on Hades Combine, I'm told that the Hammer Falls has been SCP'd and posted.

I SCP'ed it and Sarafan posted it... somewhere. I'll see about getting it on HC.

Interesting. I tried uploading Hammer Falls to Hades Combine... but they appear to be having issues with server space and missing files... so I have no idea if the upload went through.

Testing is always important, that's what I need you for.  Sure Operation Avatar might work just fine on my computer, but it doesn't mean it will on others.  There might have been something I over looked, so testing is vital to the campaign process.  Oh yeah, all done, just waiting to be SCP'd.

Yeah, that curve ball got thrown my way alright, however I saw it coming and was able to slam that little prick clean into the bleachers.  Op. Avatar is finished, don't worry.  I've also gotten a fair amount of headway on The Nightmare War, atmospheric planetary assault sound like fun?  Anywho, due to military requirements I'll have plenty of time to work on the Nightmare War, its just that my access to the good old net will be severely limited.

Cheers
