Oh where to start....

 God I hate Hillary. I hate Obama just as much as well. But truly this is amusing! The 2008 campaigns will be one long joke. I can't wait for the republicans to start up their sad attempt at a campaign.

McCain! McCain! McCain!
-
McCain was ok, then he started being nice to the fundies, and i won't tolerate that kind of behavior.
-
Paul! Paul! Paul!

Oven Chips!!!

Is there anyone worth voting for down there? Bill Clinton maybe? :)

I wish... but term limits, man. Term limits.
I'm voting for McCain when the time comes, unless someone better comes up. I personally don't like either Obama or Hillary... I would've voted for Bayh though.

Leonidas for President.
-
Zod for President.
-
Leonidas for President.
I can see the transfer of power now...
Leonidas: RED SAUCE ON PASTA!!!
Bush: Wha...?
Leonidas: *BOOT*
Bush: Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! *Thud*
Personally, I used to support Obama, but I'm getting sick of him and Hillary going at it. I used to think he might be the breath of fresh air the country needed; unfortunately, he's gotten mired in a stupid political rivalry. Now, I'm hoping that Gore might run...He has the international experience to pull us out of Iraq and fix the ridiculous international situation Bush put us in.
-
problem with gore is that for some rediculous reason, people think he has no personality, which, also rediculous, causes them not to vote for him
something about personality must be vital to the office of president. at least, more vital than intelligence, respect, and qualifications apparently.

Truly a ridiculous red, that's why Leonidas must be the new president. :P
-
Plus he'll know how to deal with those Persians!
-
McCain! McCain! McCain!
yep. as soon as he said he was running i knew he would assmaster the election.
-
Hillary has already been in office for 8 years on Bill's coat-tails. Senators can't even pronounce Obama's name right. (oh teddy, you're a riot.. Obamasama...) so yeah... good luck dems!
On a serious note, the republicans better send someone decent up so we can actually attempt to have a balance of power. Perhaps this country will actually survive another century or so.
-
The only Republican candidates I've head about so far are Rudi Guliani and Sam Brownback (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Brownback).
-
I have an unexplainable feeling of impending doom looming over the country.
-
McCain! McCain! McCain!
Suddenly I'm back in Scarborough watching Scarborough town football club at the chip shop stadium.

Ouch.

If anything Leonidas is like Bush. He's the one sounding the alarm on the Persians, and the Democrats in congress are doing everything they can to prevent him from waging the war.
-
Xerxes; commander of a numerically superior army, intent on waging war against a smaller state. Paraded the corpse of his dead enemy.
Leonidas; led a small force against a massive one, despite the knowledge of his sure death. Refused to take a larger army due to religious reasons; revered as a martyr - a very rare accord* - by his people after dying in battle.
*death was considered an occupational hazard for Spartans, and the widespread mourning for Leonidas was unusual and only due to the oracle requiring it
-
In all honesty, I think Guliani has a good chance of winning.

If Leonidas was Bush he would have marched his army into Athens after building a case to attack it with obsidian blades instead of bronze, and wondered why Sparta was razed by the Persians.

Xerxes could take on a wing of human fighters.. amazing.
Anyways, i second Zod for persident. We should start a poll btw.
What movie is that pasta quote from? (i heard 300 mentioned in a nearby thread, is that it?)

Actually, an interview with Frank Miller on NPR about 300 was cut short because he wasn't giving the answers they wanted to hear - see aldo's description.

I'd say phylogenetic approach is better than classic morphological approach when dealing with closely related taxon and interfamily relationships.
