I think he'd benefit from each of those saying what class of weapon they are after the name, like Superiority Fighter or Support Helicopter.

aircaft are fine, in fact I was going to use a fighter craft as my example but I wanted more smallish things, but tanks and fighters and boats and AAA and weapons of mass destruction are fare game, but I mostly want small arms than anything else.
-
Mmmmm small arms...well...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:5.56_mm_firearms
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Submachine_guns
That covers a pretty wide swath of the rifle/carbine/sniper/sub/machine gun line.
I scare myself in that I've read a fair bit about most of them. Let me know if you have general questions!

Here's a link to some nice rifles.

How about right from the US Military budget report:

You've been listening to propaganda again, haven't you?
-
MMmm...not sure about how much propaganda is in the knowing of 5.56mm shells :)
Maybe cultural propaganda...but I don't live in a gun toting culture up here so I still say that I scare myself in the knowledge of. Still...I find it makes games generally more entertaining if you know whats going on.

http://world.guns.ru/main-e.htm (links down the left-hand side)
It's certainly the most complete list of small arms I've ever run into, and it also has specs for each weapon as well as history.

Bofors CV9040 armored vehicle.
That, a SIG 550 assault rifle with plenty of ammo, and a SIG P229 pistol in .357 SIG with ammo.
-
And then an old MiG-21 swoops down and all your pretty, pretty Swedish gear doesn't make you any less dead
;) ;)
-
Hahaha, I forgot AA didnt i... :p
OK then, give me a MIG-35 circling overhead for air cover.
-
Meh, then I get me an F-22 Lightning... you'll never know what hit ya.
-
I want an AH64A. I don't care how old it it, is still looks ****ing lethal.

There is a bit of everything, from small arms to ground, air and sea vehicles.
-
Learn from the Iraquis - get yourself a couple of RPG-29 Vampir, with a supply of TBG-29V thermobaric anti-personnel warheads and a smaller supply of PG-29V anti-tank/bunker rounds to take down all the fancy **** these other guys are wasting millions on.
-
How did this turn into a "my weapon's better than your weapon" thread? I thought Bob just wanted lists.
And RPG-29s were used in Lebanon, not Iraq. At least not in quantities.
