Nice pictures!! I especially liked the last one. Beams are A-! SUPAR!!!!! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Anyway, how did you do the beam effect in 3D Max??? Or did you add it in AFTER rendering using a paint program? I have 3D Studio Max at home.

Hey thanks alot. To make the beam I made a long cylinder coming from the cruiser, then I added a texture that I extracted from the game, Added some blur to it and lowered the opacity settings, then I added a lens effects glow to the beam in the video post and thats about it. Everything was rendered in Max3.

The same way you make fast volumetric lighting in Lightwave3d.

You do realise that every install of FS2 comes with a vasudan voice - the wav is in the /fs2/data/freddocs/ directory and is called vasudantalk.wav.
-
I see. Then how did you do the explosion gas when the Mara explodes??

what are you useing to rnder that, if it's TS then I can give you some "specaly" textured models, you have great skill with light and shadow but your material effects are laking a bit. though you have real nice energy effects.

he does the translator...

Temporal Mechanics ("http://www.fs2temp-mech.co.uk")

Does he sound like the FS1 translator? The FS2 translator sounds like he has peanut butter on down his throat or something (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
-
well the translater is simple, you could do it, you just use goldwave and use the mechanise filter, then mix with the untranslated voice files

i know its simple... its just the part he was playing was a main part, & plot critical Vasudans have to have slightly different translators...

Well there is 2 ways, I either play with max's Combustion effect for a while or I map an explosion texture to a plane.

How about a female translator?
