Title: Internet Argues
Post by: Mobius on March 17, 2007, 03:30:49 pm
Recently, antropologists have demonstrated that the number of argues between Internet users is escalating.

Thanks to the coverage guaranteed by nicknames(or the fact that people live in different countries)offending people is every day easier.

Antropologists report that the use of emoticons if important...for example:

Quote
You're a son of a *****!  :)

Quote
You're a son of a *****!  :P

Quote
You're a son of a *****!   :nervous:

The reaction of whoever reads these sentences is connected to the emoticon.

People are worried-the extensive use of Internet by a consistent part of the population and the escalating number of episodes everyone should forget leads someone to think that the Internet is responsable of an aggressive behaviour.

I have experienced something like this-even here on HLP. What do you think?

People's reliance on emoticons indicates their poor understanding of the structure of humor.

And there was me thinking it was because most forums are filled with foaming at the mouth zealots who are looking for any chance to take offence anyway :nervous:

Every mangled word which which emerges from the  misshapen hole in your head you have elected to call a mouth is an unyielding assault on my mind. Your mere presence offends and disgusts me, as whatever mis-firings of neurons, call them thoughts if you must, you attempt to form into sentences are an unyielding assault on the English language and common decency. Every second that I mistakenly indulge your pitiful attempt at conversation leaves me a stupider than the one before. I can think of no greater curse, for myself and humanity in general, than to simply live in a world tainted by your existence. Knowing that you continue to draw breathe is a constant source of disgust and anger, a burden on my soul which will only be lifted once you have mercifully departed to the next world, which will undoubtedly be no less horrified by your presence.

Eh? Hows that for humour.

Eh? Hows that for humour.

I think a suitable "Your mom" or "You're ugly" joke works justtttt fine.

Warning - cliche detected.

Defense mechanisms online...

Scanning area for target...target acquired

Target: SARAFAN
Race: HUMANOID
Location: [CLASSIFIED]

Firing... :snipe:

Target neutralized.

Cliche threat level is currently: negligible.

Now, you were saying?

I'm very sorry that you're so jealous of my existence that you need to start a vague and rather behind-back-name-calling-ish topic about it, but it's honestly not my intention to be so transcendentally superior to you - it's just a quirk of fate and, seeing as there are many people in my position, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

:)
