The US Navy has just completed the construction of an extremely large "mega-carrier", shown here dwarfing the also subspace-capable U.S.S Nimitz. This ship, it is confidently predicted, will be capable of crushing anything America's enemies can offer with her huge complement of fighters. Her FTL capability allows hit-and-run attacks, though jump drives for fighters have not yet been perfected..
Please don't hurt me.

:nervous:
We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back,
To earth, who can tell ?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown...
We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so.

Watch F-14s vs Zeros (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mshmYNmfc0).
I love the typical intelligent YouTube comments... :)

The Nimitz really travelled back in time and this is what really happened. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zojr-lI3YPU)

I'm still wondering how the comment "The stall speed of the F14 is higher than the max speed of the Zero." when the stall speed of the Zeros is higher than the max speed of that boat, and they were having no troubles.
F-14D is still my favorite aircraft of all time. :)
-
The F-14 stalls out around 70 knots or so, and the zero was good for around 300, anyways. I also like the comment that the Zero's 20mm cannon "can't penetrate a jet fighter" :)
Cartoon on YouTube comments (http://xkcd.com/c202.html) :)

Uh... sorry for my ignorance... but isn't that true? The F-14 has a max speed of 2695.176 kM/h the zero 500... there's really no competition. :wtf:

We're talking about the min speed of the F-14 versus the max speed of the Zero. :)
-
Besides, the Zero got murdered because of hit-and-run tactics in the end. That would be a thousand times worse.
Going after Zeros in an F-14 would be like...clubbing baby seals.

Here comes DySko... :shaking:

More like a madman with a shiv made out of wood charging a firing team with a XM307 25mm autocannon. :D

I'd hope not, it was pretty straightfoward that they are all daft.

This had a prequel or a sequel (can't remember which?) I think it was called the Manhattan Project or something along those lines, where in 1940-45 two pilots are thrust into the future (present day to us, future to them). During an atmospheric experiment which goes awry opening the subspace portal that the U.S.S. Nimitz uses in this film to travel back to 1941. Anyway, they must get back A.S.A.P. as they are suffering the effects of radiation poisoning due to being "out of time" or something like that. I only remember this film vaguely as you can probably tell.
Can anyone find any reference to this film, I can't find it any where

Here comes DySkO... :shaking:
I had already passed here: I linked to another YouTube video 8 posts above yours :p
BTW, the Tomcat was a great fighter. Too bad it has been retired :(
But my favourite fighter will ever be the F-16.
-
My bad, I've found it!!! It was called "The Philadelphia Experiment" (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0087910/)
And I'm not sure that they are related in any way, but are very similar. :nervous:

That one is awesome.

Damn I was gonna post that...
Yes the Final Coundown was by act of nature
The Philadelphia experiement was "reputed" (This was my favorite story on the 70's series "In search of") to be a cloaking test on the USS Eldridge that went "wrong" and people claimed to have been entirely missing or fused to the deck.
The MOVIE premises that 2 sailors get shot to 1980's... Much cultural hilarity ensues. :P
The sequel is so so and has to do with Nazi's winning WWII and sterilizing America women with radiation. Eeck!
