Title: Freespace developer network

Given that there are at least 3 separate apps in active development right now, all that have a direct purpose related to the SCP, what would people think of either expanding the mandate of the SCP to cover such "third party" utilities?

Either that or forming another group, with its own dedicated webspace and/or forum for such apps?

What apps would this cover?

Off the top of my head, POFCS, the Turey-installer, the various VP utils, Modelview (IIRC the source was released). The Linux and OS X Launcher clones. And there's at least two other installers I'm not thinking of.

ShivanSPS and his pack would probably merit inclusion into things as well, to facilitate coordination with the installers.

But I am mostly directing this towards the developers themselves (ie you :p). I don't have any specific plan laid out for this. I thought it might be a good idea. I've noticed people talking about collaborating in some of the threads in the past. So I figured I'd get the ball rolling and see where the discussion went.

Hmm, one of the Installers would prolly be hip63's...

I've got a bunch on my plate right now, but once I get some of it cleared off, I'll see what I can do about this.

@Turey:
Thx for all you do.  :D

(Not to leave anyone else out)... :nervous:  I just saw a chance to say thx to Turey... and, come to think of it, WMC, too.  Thx.  :)

BTW, Is there any chance of implementing a "Thank you" beam, sort of like the welcome beam?

@Goober5000: Gooby, I know you can do it... as an incentive, if you do, I'll say thx to you as well.  :lol:
jk.. well, I'd still like to see the ty beam, but thx Goobler.  :)

Its not a terrible idea WM, we kinda already are, probably should have a tools developer thread (or forum if it gets that much traffic).
