WARNING: Extremely Inquisitive Idiot Alert
I installed the FSPort. Now I can't activate the regular FS2 mission. @_@
*sets up a House-ish whiteboard*
Symptoms
The pilot-select screen has the Freespace Port logo under the selection window.
Attempting to move past this brings up the following error message
Error: Could not load in main hall mask '2_MainHall_Galatea-m'!
(This error most likely means that you are missing required 1024x768 interface art.)
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\MenuUI\MainHallMenu.cpp
Line: 1106
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]
Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
((Whoever thought up the error messages echoing directly to the clipboard is a god among coders. Seriously.))
This is with No Mod selected ont he game Launcher. I don't want to delete FSPort, though

*Turns into House*
Get away from my whiteboard. *limps over, grabs marker* Patients aren't allowed to self-diagnose. Personally, I don't care, as it helps remove the idiots from the gene pool; but Cuddy says it's bad for business.
*pops Vicodin, splits thread*
Now this patient is less of an idiot than most people, since he actually recognizes the fact that he's an idiot. But he's still barely able to hold his own drool in his mouth. Can't spell his username, posts in the wrong thread, and can't understand a simple error message that tells him exactly what he's doing wrong.
*turns to team*
Opinions, people. Why are we helping this moron?
-
<Foreman Mode>
House, you're not helping.
Do you think he made sure he installed FSPort in its own folder? Or maybe he hasn't visited the Campaign room?
(Cameron's next, people).
-
It looks like the FSPort has not been installed as a mod as it should have been.
-
Okay, you guys are morons. :p Reread the first post. Specifically, the following line:
(This error most likely means that you are missing required 1024x768 interface art.)
Hmm, maybe he's missing required 1024x768 interface art? Nah, that would be too obvious.

I thought that was bundled in the port VPs...
-
Where's your manners, people?
:welcome:
BTW, link in my siggy for the Installer... that should work, providing you put your FS2 back to default settings first
-
I thought that was bundled in the port VPs...
Nope. It says so specifically on the download page:
"FreeSpace Port 3.0.4 (36.0 mb) FilePlanet WCSaga - The latest and greatest version of the Port. This download includes the core files only - you'll need to download the mission pack to play the campaigns and sparky_hi_fs1 if you want to play in 1024x768 or higher."
-
Ahh, House M.D. saves the day yet again.
I'm gonna go bonk Cameron in the janitor's closet. You solve death while I'm gone.
-
Make sure you lock the door. Someone might need to go looking for a large garbage can.
