Is there a way to allow colored CommAnis and to bypass the restriction to a certain greyscale palette ? Of course, HUD color setup wouldnt apply to those....

Unfortunately not at the moment. There is some stuff being worked on in the interface area, and hopefully it includes this. With so many areas being worked on by the SCP team it comes down to priorities. When it turns up cool - until then...
