what should I chose? what works better? (I got windows).
and, as a side note, what is been working on? will it be a update for DX9?

ATM, D3D is dead!
It "works", but is far behind OGL, AFAIK...
If you're a good D3D-Coder you can help bug-fixing and/or rewriting the D3D-Code ;)

my last project i coded was at a time when hires meant 640x480 and 256 colors was ...
oh well... maby in the summer, if i have time.. i just might start learning.. FS is just the kind of project that worths the effort.
till then.. i'm gonna by a better video card.

D3D can only take advanage of mv_effects and mv_core. otherwise i hope you like major slowdowns, invisible ships, and dead computers.
as for the volition code, im sure gamespot has a download up...as long you will join them

yes, dead computers. turn on all the media vp's, run in d3d, then play one of the latter, bigger missions in the main campaing. or if you dare, play multi.

EDIT: You mean crashed computers, then, right? I take "Dead" as meaning fried; BBQed.
