Since the release of the WC Saga prologue, several talented new people have joined the Saga team to help us make the full campaign. Today, we would like to introduce you to one of our new memebers: Adam "Klavs" Burch. Klavs has amazed the rest of the team time and time again with the speed at which he turns out some amazing looking models, and he has a talent for bridging the gap between the art styles of WC2 and WC3, making WC2-era models look great and coherent alonside WC3-era models. For today's update, we are sharing a few pictures of Klav's rendition of the Ferret, which will be featured in the WC Saga full campaign.

Yay!
Ferret was my personal favourite in the WC2.

Ahh the X-wing of Wing Commander, I love that ship! :)
Very nice models!

SONOVA...! Well, there goes the Ferret I was working on. That looks killer. BTW, as my "learn to model" project, I was modeling the fighters from WC1 and 2.
Are you guys going to be doing the entire line-up?
And, are you planning to re-create any of the pre-WC3 campaigns with them?
If I ever get any done, should I drop you some pics, or do you have it covered?
Awesome work, guys, you make me giggle like a schoolgirl.

No, just a few, to fill the continuation of the story (since it must be logic that still a few fighters are around

Not we. But I would love to see someone doing this someday. Our Autopilot demo proves, that it is very good possible :)

Sure, post it. But don't feel bad when we already have it. There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, and things develop fast, so I can't say yet what will come and what not :)

Welcome to the Hard Light Production Facility. Current topside temperature is 3000 degrees centigrade. Take note of any rogue ships outside. If you are attacked by a Zephyr, grab a nail gun and blow it in half. If attacked by a Spitfire, RUN!!! In case of an emergency, please allow the women, children, and Vasudans to leave first. Should you require weapons (nail guns aside), there is a flamethrower underneath your chair, but those are full of water, so I hope you brought your own stuff. If not, in case of attack, just run screaming at the enemy and hope something happens. In regards to the plasma rifles in the weapons lockers, only an Admin, :v:, God, or a hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue may open them. If you decide to explore our wonderful ducts, you may encounter Carl, our resident Shivan. If you do, just give him your lunch and back away slowly. If he's hungry or mad......screw it, you're dead. Thank you, and have a pleasant stay.

What's kinda scary is that there isn't that large a difference between the render and in-game shots. :D

Indeed. This also makes me happy. Having a space sim game with visual effect similar to 3d-Renders is a nice thing :)

Hmm, depends on how you make the render :)
I can't wait to see bump mapping and shaders finally implemented :D

Great work there!! The model looks great in ingame. I always thought that wc1-2 models woudn't fit in wc3 era.....guess I was wrong :D
Keep up the good work guys!

Well, thanks much, anyways. I'd thought I'd work on getting the original stuff going. For me, the most fun was had running around on the Tiger's Claw, trouncing the hell out of the Kitties. So WC1 would be great fun, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I'm learning everything as I go, so it's going slow.
I'll post the Hornet as soon as I get it working. Then maybe I can learn how to texture... (shudder)

At some point I hope that there is a WC1 or WC2 based setup...I'd love to be flying a Raptor defending Exeter class destroyers from waves of Gratha and the like. It would definitely bring back memories...probably expand them too as the WC1 engine never featured capital ship combat.

*bleary eyed* now you are talking :)
Seriously, we have several WC2 models finished. We'll keep showing them in the next few weeks.

Indeed, I remember a Confederation class dreadnought in one of the older trailers. ;7
-
That was a Wake Island-class escort carrier, commonly refered as Tarawa. Shame on you :)
