What do you guy's think? (I've made replacements for all of the FS2 craft the Terran player-flyable ships for testing.)

Some months ago I thought of actual aircrafts converted in spaceships, but my modelling skills are bad non-existant. Looks like you are making them though!

:blah: Unfortunatly I didn't actually model them. They're from here. I'm good at tables and editing the stuff in a pof but I'm (currently) hopeless at modeling and texturing. This is why I started the "VRML Conversion" thread.

I've got those aircraft, but I have no idea how to convert srf (is that the format of the high detail ones?) to a useful format. The ones I added to FS2 were VRML files from the YSFlight website.

Are you looking for higher poly models (like NICO's F-22 w/skybox pofs) for those "modern aircraft"?

Plus I think the f-22 had a cockpit I don't remember...

Perseus is a pure interceptor..F-22 is not..

I'd replace that with a F-14 :D

Sorry forgot you're relatively new here. :D

Venom(NICO) made a Dome type skybox and a slice of terrain covered with a USGS texture. Also the F-22.

I don't use it though I did test it once. I don't have a pic of it but I do use the skybox and ground and this is what they look like (Forgive the big hulk in the way)... Shameless pimpage.  ;7

The Game and Wyvern will be included, as well as the Falkern. Although I recall someone else doing a similar thing.

I wanted to make a mod based on converted planes model, but I don't know how to convert them, so the mod didn't start.
I had in mind the story (well... actually only the initial situation :nervous:), so, if you want to hear it... :D

The Wyvern and Game are ready. I had stats for the Wyvern, but not the Game. Topspeed for Wyvern is 690m/s, Game is 500m/s (on afterburners, they're limited to slower speeds on normal flight so the AI can use them better).

Uhm the Game is the one from AC3, not AC2. It is better for a sci-fi, however.

Hmm, are you gonna touch up that SR-71 a bit?  It just doesn't look fit to represent the real Blackbird... I think it's prolly the texturing, but also, I'm not sure the shape is quite right...

Well, I bet it'd prolly run SCP without the mediavps, or maybe even with mediavps, without the adveffects vp... you could try.  I know that it runs rather slowly on a 500MHz with 256 MB RAM... ;)

No, I told you all already, it still lags without mediavps. It's the .exe that's lagging me here.

No, it's not Ace Combat. It will use SCP since I will use some of its features such as showing external stores.

As you may have noticed, I've not done much of this lately. I have to admit it's not been high on my piorities, although I have coded some weapons. I might be able to to more of this next year, as I'm going on holiday for December.
