Hi there,
I've already used the search function and looked for my problem but I can't find a solution.
When I start the game I've to create the first pilot profile. I type in the name and press the
Enter button as followed the instructions. A warning window pops up that I don't have
enough disk space to save the profile. However I have serveral GB disk space.
To retry the creating of the profile isn't possible even ignoring it. If I choose ignore in
window I get the following error message:
Error: Couldn't load pilot file, bailing
File:\fs2_open\code\menuui\playermenu.cpp
Line: 842
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Can someone help?

Try copying a profile from your Freespace2 folder, I had the same problem and that is how I fixed it
-
I don't have Freespace 2 and I thought Bab5 Project is a
standalone Game based on the freeware FS2 Engine.
-
It is... that must be a bug, what version of B5 you running? 3.3a? (latest stable version)
-
The obvious solution, which will almost certainly work, is delete the TBP main directory and do a fresh install from scratch.
-
Do you have admin rights on the computer? How about your firewall? Is that possibly the problem?
BTW
:welcome:
:D
-
Firewall? :wtf: Admin rights is a better suggestion but a reinstall would fix any permissions issues anyway. Since he'd need admin rights to reinstall it. :P
-
Hmm... Dunno if it would help but i heard of sort of similar sounding bug... Check if you have ../data/players directory.. if you haven't got it.. create it and try again.
-
1. Yeah, my TBP Version is 3.3a.
2. Yes, I've admin rights
3. Nope, the firewall can't be the cause of my problem.
4. I'll check if there is a /data/profile folder
-
5. Ignore my advice.
-
Fresh installs are a PIA; I generally use them as a last resort. (Well, depends on your computer speed, of course... faster computers make it easier.)
-
If you want to make life difficult for yourself who am I to stop you.
-
That's it! Wanderer's tip was the solution. I created the folder and it worked.
Thx all!

Mm, do I detect something that should be Mantised?
