link removed for bug fixing. happy?
-
how about you fix your horrible bugs, and then go download the shine and glowmapped versions of all the retail ships, because we already have.
-
What he said.
By the way takashi, if you want to get anywhere in the modding community, fix your own damn bugs, don't hoard it on us to do your own dirty work.
-
Maybe even, if you had worded it as, oh, there are still some bugs I can't figure out (note the way you concede to have tried, and also to have failed thus far), so if someone could find them, I'd really appreciate it (show gratitude by sincerity and not by bribes of crap no one wants, it works much better). You're basically admitting you don't give a s*** to bother finding the bugs yourself, but you're willing to give out s*** no one wants to someone who bothers to do it for you, which is probably going to be no one the way you worded it, unless it's for the purpose of making fun of you now.
-
In this case, I do believe he was joking. Seriously, guys... even takashi can make a joke at his own expense now and then, I would think. :D (right, taka... or am I misreading this?)
-
It's just that, lacking the ability to perceive a tone of voice over the internet, and his previous shenanigans, it's really hard to tell.
-
edit: there are terrible bugs in the test mission. first person to fix any of these bugs gets shine/glowmapped versions of every single old retail mod ship.
I'd be surprised if you could do that for every single old retail mod ship with quality. Do that and release it to everyone, not just someone who's doing your dirty work and you'll get respect (not guaranteed).

Well the post does contain the standard Takashi quality disclaimer, and the file probably meets the Takashi quality minimum.
-
Just question how the heck can you realese a model with a Buggy Test mission I mean the test mission aint that hard to make, or take an old mission and change the models.
Oh well I am off trying to learn 3D-Studio Max (Its really hard)
-
less of a buggy mission and more of a problem with how the SEXP is in the source code.
in other words:
i dont know C++, only C. so how the hell would i fix the SEXP? the last time i even tried i had to wipe my computer!

Hmm yes well if you have a problem with the SEXP that is in the source code then there might be a bit of a problem

there probably isnt a code problem unless its one of his sexp's. more likely user-fred interface error, where the user doesnt know how to use fred.
-
Im doubting theres a SEXP problem, unless of course you care to say which SEXP are you talking about exactly?!
-
i dont know C++, only C
Well actually, some parts of FS2 are written in C (AFAIK), but it doesn't matter because you don't really know C.
-
I don't know C or C++ at all and I can FRED...
-
Because you don't NEED to know C/C++ to create a ****ing mission!
Takashi, please, stop embarrassing yourself.
-
Hmm yeah i thought something wasent right , think I will start listening to everyones advise and stop listening to Takashi
-
I used to code Wolfenstein 3d, when I was like twelve... Harder than you think, mind you, the code was much more complicated than it needs to be. It rarely works anyway. :P
-

Using C. Most of FS2_Open is C.
Not that the point makes much sense as C++ is mostly just a different way of working with C rather than being a separate language.

:eek2:
I know that!
-
THE FRAKKING BUG IS IN SEXP.H/SEXP.CPP!
end.
-
takashi, what is the bug? What sexp is causing the bug to show up? Just saying there's a bug in a file isn't helping anyone narrow it down and it's not helping your case. So please, if there is a problem, explain what it is and stop just saying things are broken and it's somehow not your fault, as unlikely as that is, and maybe it can be remedied. Or, knock it off. Pick one.
-
ship-create fails to work when combined with when-key-pressed.
-
in what way doe it fail? does it work once then never again cause if that's the case you need to reset the key, I beleive.
-
Wouldn't it be something along the lines of "every-time" something or another "when key pressed"? I can't remember; it's been over a year since I tried hacking at FRED.

you just showed how little you really know...

I've never seen anyone become so infamous so quickly...
-
ive never seen someone revive a stupid thread so quickly either.
-
Actually takashi, you never said whether you were able to fix the bug in your mission. Did Bobboau's note help or is it still not working?
-

takashi, you're, like, paranoid about everyone talking in your threads. You post and then immediately like ten posts later you say that everyone should shut up and stop posting in your threads. Maybe you should just do us all a favor and stop posting period?
Besides, it's not like he was bumping it from the grave - it was on the same day, jesus.
