You have no less than four "FAQ!!!11" and status threads, and all of them contradict everything up to and including themselves. Being a new member, this is what I've gathered after painstakingly subjecting myself to all of them.
Inferno: Release 1 (the original release, discontinued or something, not related to Inferno: SCP)
Inferno: Alliance (prequel to the sequel to the original release that never really..oh, ffs)
Inferno: SCP (really the second version of the first edition of release 1, sort of a release 1 mk.2 but not really...)
So my question is...what the Hades' realm is Inferno:SCP...is it a revamped, SCPified version of Release 1, a SCPified sequel to Release 1, or something else entirely just to spite me?
This mod looks really, really awesome, but I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on.
Just to rub salt in your wounds, could you post a shot of the Gargant?
-
INFSCP = Total rebuild with the same basic premise of R1
You forgot the standalone version of INFA as well :D
-
Here are your Gargant shots: ;)

:jaw: :jaw: :jaw: These are the first shots I've seen of that ship in quite a long time. That's one big mother......
-
Before someone says anything:
I am not on Inferno staff. I'm only an Inferno Alliance member. :P
-
INFSCP = Total rebuild with the same basic premise of R1
I see. It all makes sense, now.
You forgot the standalone version of INFA as well :D
For my sanity...I'll ignore that.
Nice pics (omfg, that's how big it looks from 30k away?!), even for a WIP.
-
InfaSA is a remake of INFA.
-
Which mod has the Gargant in it? I've only seen the Gigas (which I thought was the Gargant)...
-
Unreleased as of now.
Probably will be released with Chapter 3, or never.
-
I thought Woo said he'd release the Gargant if it turned out that it was never used?
-
He'd better. :arrr: :)
BTW, what does the Gargant weapon(s) do, compared with a Sathanas' claws? How about a Gigas, what does its weapon(s) do?
-
Vretsu, I totally agree with you. In fact I'm writing a new, all-encompassing FAQ to replace all the old stuff which will hopefully prevent the same old questions from coming up from some newbie once a week. Watch this space.

The Gargant is 37.8km. Do you think it does more damage than the Sathanas? :P
Actually, it only has 1 weapon pointed forward, which, IMO, sucks ass. It's such a good design yet it has only one forward gun. I say those four beams should have something more than just one subspace weapon. Unfortunately, Woo won't do anything about it, most likely. However, it does have, IIRC, around 20 anti-cap beams. ;7
The Gigas from R1 was powerful enough as it is. However, against fighters I could easily dodge most of the weapons it fired at me. I hope the new Gigas has more than just SBFreds and UReds. :doubt:
-
Subspace weapon for the Gargant... details?
And what about the Gigas?
-
The same one as on the Gigas, I guess.
Apparently the INFSCP subspace weapons are different from the ones in R1, they're no longer just invisible beams anymore.
-
:wtf: "Invisible beams"?? How is that so special? Or do they have great range or something?
-
The R1 subspace weapons were only invisible beams with impact explosions and warmup images to make them look like Subspace weapons. The Inferno SCP ones are different in some way.
(don't ask me, I don't know what they are). >>

*Looks at the nice shiny "I" under Snail's username*
*Looks at the pictures that Snail posts that ordinary people can't find*
-Sure, riiight, you have no clue... uh-huh...
[scaryvoice]
Vee haf vays uff makinge you sqvauk!!
[/scaryvoice]
-
The big, shiny, (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/Themes/HLP_oldRC2/images/logo-inf.gif) next to my username is the INFA one. I'm not a full-Inferno SCP staff member, just an INFA staff member.
And you CAN find those pictures, if you just look hard enough. :P
-
...I wasn't talking about the pictures; I actually meant your ability to take them in-game :hopping: . (I know you took those yourself; you just like the power, don't you? )

They're the same ones, but they don't work due to z buffer limits. So we use a more scripted way to use the weapon which actually looks 10x better.

These pics were taken by Woomeister.

These pics were taken by Woomeister.
Or Sid.
-
Me.
-
Huh? Not all the pictures I've posted were taken by you. I posted some by DaBrain too, on that fest...
-
Those Gargant ones are mine.
-
Yeah, but not all the pictures I've posted have been yours.
Besides, does anyone else besides you even have the Gargant? I thought it was such a secret mod you didn't release it to anyone.
-
Newer staff won't have it, older staff may have if they kept it from older modpacks. It's on my external harddrive right now along with the main INF mod.
-

Why you don't read my signature?!?
-
You have the Gargant? :shaking:
-
Woo has the Gargant, read my sig dammit! :)
-
Well I know that. Or else how would he have gotten the screenshots. :)
What I was asking was whether he was the only person to have the Gargant.
-
Members like Sid or Rampage should have it...I don't know, maybe DaBrain has the Gargant POF.
-

-
All I can say is, it'd better not just mysteriously disappear... :nervous:
-
It won't, barring HD failure...
-
:hopping: Exactly my point!!
-
can you say jump drive?
-
Can you say "maximum capacity 8 GiB"?
-
can you say "thats a horribly small hardrive"?
-
can you say "thats a horribly small hardrive"?
He didn't say hard drive. He said jump drive, and everybody knows they can only store a couple of sets of coordinates at once.
-
This thread has transcended off-topic. Also, as evidenced by the entirety of the second page, it has done so in a very, very ironic fashion. Well, it's good to know that your efforts are so well coordinated. :p
*thread drifts through space and time, collides with Woo's hopes and dreams, inadvertantly canning the Gargant*
-
can you say "thats a horribly small hardrive"?
-Except it's a jump drive. aka USB stick?

Stop it. :shaking: you're scaring me.
-
Im in the same boat as Vretsu.. except now im 10x more confused about whats going on after reading this thread than I was before.
So what is INFA, INFA2, INFSCP, and INFR1 and what about INFR2?
-
INFR1 = THE FIRST RELEASE OF INFERNO
INFR2 = CANCELED SEQUEL TO INFR1
INFA = WHAT HAPPENED IN SOL DURING 2350
INFA2 = WHAT HAPPENED IN SOL LATER
INFSCP = NEW REDONE VERSION OF INFERNO
-
Here are your Gargant shots: ;)

BIG MAMA
:eek2:
damn i want to see that babe in action! :D
and i tought the collossus was big wen i flow next to that ship
-
Yes, I believe 'big mama' is the correct description. :D
I want that ship.
-

INFR2 = CANCELED SEQUEL TO INFR1

INFSCP = NEW REDONE VERSION OF INFERNO
Okies. So basically erase what happened in the campaign of INFR1 and any memories of a soon-to-be-relased INFR2. INFSCP is dogma and INFA & INFA2 are its prequels.
-
which brings us back to the gargant.
-
INFSCP = NEW REDONE VERSION OF INFERNO
Which is... INFA & INFA2? Redone version of those? Or any official Inferno release? What is INFSCP?
-
INFA and INFA2 are prequels to INF SCP. INF SCP is pretty much INFR1 re-done and improved.
-
Ah, thx
-
It is easy to understand, just read posts in this board.
-
I originally was going to go through the FAQ thread but at over 70 pages i figured it was pointless.
-
jr2, you have got to be joking here. In the same post I posted that INFA and INFA2 were what happend in Sol!! :p
-
Put it in a timeline sequence, that'll help:
Original: INFR1 (abandoned) > INFR2 (scrapped)
Redone: INFA > INFA2 > INFR1 INFSCP
So, INFA & INFA2 are prequels to INFSCP, which is a replacement for INFR1
 This I can understand. :D (Not your fault, Snail... sometimes I am a bit tired when I post here. :nervous: )
-
I originally was going to go through the FAQ thread but at over 70 pages i figured it was pointless.
It claims to be a FAQ thread, but it's really just there to torture you. :p
-
There's a reason Snail refers to this board as "The Inferno Night Cafe". ;)
-
At this point, I think Woo should pin a thread and specify everything. He should also tell everyone that S:AH isn't compatible with INFR1 SCP...everything people should know before creating threads like this one.
Uh, a new FAQ is in the works if I remember well.
There's a reason Snail refers to this board as "The Inferno Night Cafe". ;)
I'm the one who created that definition, not Snail :P
-
Yeah.. make it a locked FAQ thread instead of an open discussion.
-
Nah, just have all IMPORTANT stuff updated to the first post or something.
There's a reason Snail refers to this board as "The Inferno Night Cafe". ;)
I wasn't the one who came up with that, it was LGM. :)
I say all people who go onto the Inferno Night Cafe should put it in their signature!! :D
-

I've already said that....I need space for another line in my sig....
