Hi everyone...not sure where to post this...
Just wanted to say thanks for your efforts on the site/projects. Definite newbie to all of this - became interested in freespace 2 - and here you were! :>> ;)
-
:welcome:
Exits are to the sides and rear, non-working water-filled flamethrowers are located under the seats. The lockers up front contain shotguns and plasma rifles in case of a real emergency, but they can only be opened by an Admin, [V]-God, or hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. If you go crawling in the air ducts and encounter Carl the Shivan, he might let you go if you give him you lunch. Don't try to enter the control room as it is guarded by subspatial claymore mines. Don't ask about FS3; it's not happening and we're not going to make it ourselves. Don't ask about Derek Smart. Don't listen to takashi. Read karajorma's FAQ. beam-free-all
Thank you, and enjoy our stay :D

Don't try to enter the control room as it is guarded by subspatial claymore mines.
Don't you know you can by pass subspatial mines by using a subspace feild generator and a variable phase inverter.
-
Whatever happened to just keeping the shotguns under the seats? We never had a problem with it back then.
-
Your all newbies Cept Grey Wolf :shaking:
-
What are you talking about, Zeronet? I predate you by six months.
EDIT: Nice edit.
-

Awww, I'm still a newb?

Yep. You're all 2003 and newer, so you're all newbs (http://www.hexellent.com/files/5/ohsnap.gif)

Yer mom's a newb.

Man, I was around for HLP 1.0. dynamic.gamespy.com/hlp or whatever it was, back when we had a Freelancer board and the main page was all ghetto, and glowmaps were the coolest thing EVAR! and all that.
-
Back when 3dap.com/hlp was the shortest URL to get to us. :) Not that hard-light.net is shorter, but still... :p
Oh, and we were on dynamic4 for the longest time until GS screwed their servers up, and then you could access us from any dynamic# server. :)
-
Remember back when we had an I-War board?
-
Yep. I remember back before we had an I-War board, too. :p
-
Given that I was here before you, my memory must be going :p
-
What did you say, Grey haired Wolf? Err, umm.. put that down! :snipe: Aaaa!
-
Given that you're actually older than me makes that comment a bit odd, jr2.
-
Err.. yes. Now that I've checked your profile, I see that. You started playing FS when you were what, 12? Yikes! (I would have in '98 if I could have, but I didn't get a chance to until around 2003 / 2004).
-
Let's see... I'd have been 12, as I started playing at the beginning of 2000. Didn't join HLP until around a year or so after that. I think I had joined the VBB about a week or two before that.
-
Given that I was here before you, my memory must be going :p
Well, I did lurk for quite a while before Snipes (remember him? ;)) convinced me to sign up. :p
-
Of course I remember Snipes. I still find it funny that I'm here because Thunder decided to post some news I sent him here instead of at Ross 128.
-
Did Snipes lock lots of threads like he does now? :P
-
Snipes wasn't a mod then.

How'd you know who Snipes was/is? He's changed nics twice since then!
-
Same way everyone knows that Kal is actually Thunder...
-
What was that nick for Thunder again? Thundereth or something like that?
-
Thundifireth?
-
That might have been it. I really can't remember exactly what it was.
-
Actually my evolution was thus (basardisations by you guys don't count ;)):
Iceman - Thunder - Kalfireth
Yeah. Laugh it up. Iceman. :p
-
*ahem*
I have no place to laugh though. :nervous:
-
Iceman apparently predates my presence on the same forum as you, then, as the first nick I remember seeing you use was R128_Thunder.
-
I remember seeing a UK-Iceman several times on PXO. Was that you?
I switched to a different handle (142857) in games long ago, but have stuck with this name on forums.

Snipes = Raa = Taristin :P
-
I remember infinity.
-
Marathon? Wrong thread?
