Title: Has anyone thought of this?
Post by: blackdragon on April 22, 2007, 07:45:35 pm
It just occurred to me, while watching tv, what if the Lucifer that attacked Sol was NOT destroyed.

Think about for a second here.  I ASSUME that when the subspace portal collapsed communication stopped too.  What if the reactors were destroyed, the pilots sent back the victory sign, and then realized that the reactors had only, say, critically damaged it, not destroyed it.

It may sound like a conspiracy theory, but would something like that be actually feasible?  Or have I missed some very critical piece of information that proves me totally off-base?

I can think of something. The cutscene at the conclusion of Fs1 shows the Lucifer getting spliced in half and then blown into dozens of tiny, derelict shards.

:p

 well thats a major nail in the coffin right there. From what I remember, since it's in a cutscene it's canon right?

ok....well it was fun to have my first post ripped to shreds....I'm off to find more conspiracy theories.... :D

:nervous: Were the shivans created by the GTA?  :nervous:

lol

Have you ever watched the cutscenes?  Do you play FS2?  FS1?  FS:SCP?  If you answered no to any of these questions, there are links in my siggy for people like you.  ;)  (I recommend Turey's)

Errg.  Again.

Powering up Photon Beam Cannons. Target Acquired. FIRE!

Welcome to Hard Light Productions. Exits are to your rear. In case of emergency, Flamethrowers can be found under your seats. They're empty though, so you'll have to beat others to death with them.

If, for some strange, as-yet-unknown reason you find yourself crawling through one of the nearby airducts, you are quite possibly going to run into a shivan. Five legs, glowing red eyes. You cant miss 'em. It's probably just Carl, though. Give him whatever food you have on you, and he should leave you alone. If you have none, take comfort in the fact that your death will, at least, be quick (if not painless).

There are Plasma rifles located in the forward storage lockers, however these can only be accessed by an Admin, :v: , God, or Hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. Be warned that the door to the Command Bridge is guarded by subspace claymore mines.

The SCP is all that is good. Mention efF esS thr33 at your own peril. And have a nice day.

who is the shade of blue?

Excerpt from wikipedia:

Hooloovoo
A Hooloovoo is a superintelligent shade of the colour blue.

Little is known of them, except that one participated in the construction of the starship Heart of Gold. At the launching ceremony one was temporarily refracted into a free-standing prism. This is probably analogous to the multicoloured lab coats worn by the rest of the team.[/excerpt]

They exist in the universe of The Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy and HLP. :p

what if the Lucifer that attacked Sol was NOT destroyed.
I was making a minicampaign (yes, I was FREDding. Incredible, isn't it?) for the upcoming INFA Standalone in which the player is based in Earth, and Lucy is not destroyed.

I made only the 1st mission, because a bad thing called Real LifeTM sucked all my time. But maybe in the next days I'll continue it... :D

Jr I have played FS1 retail campaign several times, fs2 retail campaign several times, and the FS2 SCP campaign once.   I did not remember the FS1 cutscene depicting the Lucifer being destroyed (although I have watched it now), so naturally, I thought that the evidence about it seemed kinda slim.

I have been on this forum before, but never really registered, as I really had nothing to say.  So I think that we can save time and spare most of the welcome wagon information.   :)

edit:  After re-reading that, it sounded kind of mean and defensive.  It was not supposed to be.  I really should push preview first...

That inspired a mini campaign by me :P

Who can give that for sure...maybe V planned to make the destruction of the Lucifer not-canon in FS"X". That's what Edivad wants, right? The GTVA reopens the jump node...and finds Shivans!

Well I dont know that would mean that earth was destroyed and well I really doubt that they would make a campaign where that happend...........

That's an original idea...I don't think V would have made such a campaign, but we can do it ;)

Note that the presence of Shivans in Sol could not be connected to the Lucifer or whatever comes from Delta Serpentis...there might be other, weak jump nodes.

Have you noticed in the taranis clutsene and in the command briefing that there was another jumpnode leading to sol?How the hell did the luficer blow up to nodes? :wtf:

Hell, this is for one a game and for two, it's science fiction, therefore we can create an alternate universe, where the Lucifer survives the trip to Sol

And who knows...............maybe they were on a mission on peace to the Terrans, we were just getting in their way of annihilating the Vasudans  :P

Yeah right!

Assuming Lucifer is not destroyed - it would still be damaged, lost most of it's reacotrs...you'd think it could stand against the 1st Fleet (the best terrans got)? Could it even power up the shield?

In the first mission of my minicampaign (released in the INFA internal :P), Lucy has just emerged from the node, after destroying the Bastion (which collapses the node).
Most of its reactors are down, beams are not working, it's disabled, glowmaps are off and turrets are firing inaccurately, but the shield is still up. It's attacked by 2 destroyers and... oh wait, you'll discover when if I'll finish it.

I had an idea for something similar. Basically, the Lucifer survives and goes on a rampage. After wiping out Sol, the GTA regroups in Laramis and other out-of-the-way systems and tries to survive. Then the SD Hades engages the Lucifer in subspace. Or maybe it tries to capture it... some GTI intrigue there.

End of FS1. "All the jump points from Sol are gone. I'm told that we can expect them again, but not in my lifetime."

i.e. MAGIC!!!
