Once again I am in need of finding a program but was unable to find one, so again I'm turning to my good pals at HLP! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) I need a program (free, trial version, whatever.. I only need to use it on a few files) that I can edit mp3s with. All I need to do is take off some at the beginning of some mp3s, and edit out some other stuff (its for school). So can anyone point me in a direction where I might find such a program? Thanks guys!! New question..... again (sorry). I got bored one day and downloaded a couple old console game songs that where all remixed and technified. Anyway, I was wonderin if anyone knew where I could find a program that lets you really play with mp3s and add and change stuff. I tried playin around with Goldwave doin this, but it uh..... didnt exactly work right. GW wont let me save mp3s anyway...
Well, thanks again for your help! :)
-
It doesn't allow you to save mp3's? Odd... well I must confess that I've that heard it's a good software, and it's free (and I've tried it briefly). I myself use CoolEdit 2000, that allows you to same allmost any format.

You need to have MP3 codecs installed properly to save MP3's through goldwave. Download a MP3 codec somewhere.

You guys should be aware that, since MP3 is a lossy format, every time you load and resave an MP3 it will introduce generational degradation.
Ulala, you seem to be under the impression that "music file" == "MP3". Generally you DO NOT edit MP3s. You edit WAVs (or IFFs, if you're unfortunate), then save them as MP3s when you're done.

Oh I see... heh, thats nice to know. Thanks Z. I'll look into it.. Google here I come. Many thanks all! :)

Grab the Nero Wave Editor. It allows you to save directly to mp3 format instead of making you wait through some stupid conversion process.

MP3 encoding is a "stupid conversion process"?

You missed the qhole point. I was saying that you can save directly to the format instead of waiting through some stupid conversion process. Try reading the entire post instead of just what you want to and then blow things out of proportion.

We really need a "Round of Applause" smiley and an accompanying sound file.

Nonetheless, you still called MP3 encoding stupid. Why not, "...instead of waiting through some highly sophisticated psychoacoustic compression process"? :p

[Rafiki]Wrong again![/Rafiki]
I called having to wait for it stupid.

So if I say, "I don't want to wait for that stupid MD-2389", according to you I'm calling the wait stupid, not you. Ok, got it now. Thanks.

I got music rendering programs and stuff.. this is awesome! Except most of them are trial versions and close after 15 minutes or dont let me save. :( Oh well, gives me something else to work for and buy. ;)

Sorry, but I have yet ANOTHER question... after searching multiple search engines all day for programs, I'm rather tired and dont really wanna search through again, so I'm hopin someone can help me... yet again. :) Now that I have some programs to edit mp3s, wavs, midis, basically anything, I need sound samples I can put over the song file I want to edit. Drum beats, sounds, etc... to add on top of the current file. So, does anyone know where I can find sounds or a program to create them or anything of the like? Thanks very much again! ;)
