For this week's update, the Wing Commander Saga team would like to showcase one of our in-game cutscenes.

The following series of screenshots illustrates the "fleet jumping" cutscenes that are familiar to Wing Commander fans and that will play a transitional role in Saga's story, as well.

Awesome! Cutscenes add a LOT to the experience IMO. I can hardly wait!

That looks awesome. Are you able to post up an actual video simulation of the jumps to download or is that going to be a suprise in the main campaign? Also is the carrier a Ranger or Concordia Class.

It's the ranger-class  known from the prologue. We are trying to submit a video later on, but we had problems recording it. While the animation runs fine on standard systems, FRAPS and other video catching programs are dragging away too much system resources and then destroy the video output and/or the timing of the cutscene/sexp :(

interesting... ' " ' was added by vbulletin forum software (I posted the download link on CIC first). It is not my fault per se ;)

Another great improvement.... :)

Just one note: is there a way to make the fleet ships go to a stop or decelerate after they exit the jump point? I think its not realistic to see the capital ship flet pass you by at 1000 kps :nervous:, and not decelerating after they exit the jump point. I also noticed this "error" in original wc3 game.

Is there any chance of patching Prologue to add flybys or any of the other new features?

since it is not a code feature, we would have to overwork all missions in the prologue with autopilot (that would be 6). Hopefully autopilot fly by will be part of the mp patch.

The cutscene looks awesome. I just wish we could have seen the Hermes instead of a Ranger carrier  :)
