for some reason I decided to create a trilogy of small campaigns (not more than 5-6 missions each) for the current beta...
now thanks to the support of my beta testing team (Macfire, Marduk and stargate2008) as well as I_E_Maverick and Primus I'm able to present you the first part of said trilogy...
DRUMS OF WAR 1
Campaign setting:
The campaing (and the whole trilogy) is set in B5 cannon year 2262 when the ISA's crisis/war with the Centauri. You will play a narn fighter pilot stationed on the NRS Vol'Toth - a G'Quan destroyer.
Player Equidment:
As you are playing the narn you will have access to the NR Frazi and the the NR Gorith heavy fighters as well as the full array of narn fighter weapons (52mm and 75 mm Pulse guns; Ta'Lon medium range seeker missile and T'Kor anit-capital ship torpedo). (but maybe if you perform like a real narn you might recive some goodies)
Downloads:
http://www.white-omega.relichost.net/aotb/downloads.html
http://www.white-omega.relichost.net/tbh/downloads.html
Other features:
- Once you have completed the 5th and final mission of this campaign the class of the fighter you are flying will be saved in your pilot file -- thus you will start with the very same fighter into the next part of the Drums of War trilogy

:(
when I try to download, I get a file not found error...
-
the link appears to be correct ... but I've contacted Primus (who admins the site) just in case...
wil report once the link is fixed
-
The requested URL /public_html/tbh/files/TBP-DrumsOfWar-1.rar was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
-
I checked the ftp... the file is there... but the link is broken anyway
but in order not to upset you folks... I've cared to find another dl link!!!

:eek2: Wow! This is really good. The missions are straight forward, well scripted, perfectly balanced, and above all else fun. This might be the best mini campaign I've seen for TBP yet.
-
The new link gives a "Server not found" to me. Somebody email this to me, and I'll put it on my uni account.
EDIT: The original link is working now. :)
-
yes played it too :)
Was nice :)
-
I just finished playing Drums of War 1 and think that it's amazing, I can't wait to play Drums of War 2! :)
-
It’s very interesting mod. Today I finished Drums of War part 1, and I can say only one – it’s GREAT! Waiting for a Drums of War part 2.
-
Ok, I got a problem. In the first mission my wingmate keeps crashing into the rocks all the time and as soon as he hits them the game crashes. Can anyone help me out?

No bug message. Just a pop up message saying Program Error.
-
you should have a debug build (fs_open_369-debug.exe or similar).... can you switch to this build and run the mission again?
-
Jo guys, I'm having trouble again ^^"
When I try to launch the Drums of War Campaing I get kicked to the desktop with that funny little failure here:
Error: dow_01_dbd.fs2(38):
Error: Required token = [#Command Briefing] or [#Briefing], found [$AI Profile: TBP] .
File:parse/parselo.cpp
Line: 551
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]
Call stack:

------------------------------------------------------------------
There are some more of these failures and seems like all of them are in the same file (ok, no surprise here since the mod has only one file ^^").
So what did I do wrong again?
[edit]
Erm, could it be that i really need the fsopen 3.6.9 in the TBP folder to run this? ^^"
If so, please smack me hard. i think I could need it Oo
[edit2]
oh yeah, I forgot. I have the fsopen 3.6.7 and the Launcher Version 5.2 in the TBP folder, since those came with the download.
-
Error: dow_01_dbd.fs2(38):

:wakka:
yeah!!!! the praseing bugs are back...
appearently you are running a fs_open build prior to the fred build I've created this on (with is 3.6.9)
-
But it's not done with copying the 3.6.9 build in the TBP folder, isn't it? Oo
I tried it and what I got was this:
Error: ships.tbl(line 1501:
Error: Required token = [#End], [$Subsystem:] or [$Name], found [$animation=triggered].
File:C:\temp\fs2_open_3_6_9.t\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP
Line: 638
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]
Call stack:

------------------------------------------------------------------
This time, I don't even get to the menue.
Now trying with the fs2_open_Red_2006-01-09-P4_r.exe (yeah, I did it right Oo)
Error: dow_01_dbd.fs2(line 249:
Error: Required token = [$IFF:], found [$AI Behavior: Safety] .
File:\fs2_open\code\parse\parselo.cpp
Line: 606
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

------------------------------------------------------------------
jeez, I suck at this >_>
At least the other campaings work (exept "The Black Hand" which appears to be made by 0rph3u5 too :ick: ;) )

I'm not so familiar with TBP but I had similar problems when trying to get the GTD Raynor model operating in FSO. After intensive searching I stumbled upon a thread regarding the issue. First, create a backup of the ships.tbl, then replace every $animation=triggered with $animation:triggered in the ships.tbl. That equal sign seems to be the source of much pain and misery.
-
Good, I'll try that out tomorrow after work, since it's 0:30 in the night here in Germany.
-
Do you have the 3.4beta of the Babylon Project? You need that installed with the appropriate instructions. You also need the 3.6.9 build.
See this thread for 3.4 beta http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,46061.0.html
See this thread for 3.6.9 final http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,44291.0.html

No, That didn't work but after looking through the thread I just figured out that you need 3.4 beta for it to run but its just my luck that the damn patch doesn't work for me. It just crashs to the desktop 2 seconds after seeing the main game loading screen. I got the 3.3 base, removed the 3.3a patch and have the 3.6.9 final in my Babylon Project fodder.

works again. just had to change from the debug build to the normal build
-

that's bad... I don't know any solution for that

Ok, this is what I get when I try to run 3.4 with FS2_open_3.6.9_debug:
Warning: ships.tbl(line 99:
Warning: Unable to find [Terran] in species names list.
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP

I hope someone help me figure this out because I really, really want to play the 3.4 beta some of these new campaigns. Thanks.

looks like there is some table file running wild in your TBP folder - can you check if there is a "ships.tbl" somewhere?
-
I had the same problem. Like 0rph3u5 said, it's likely that you have a ships.tbl in your data folder (/data/tables if you where following one of the tutorials here).
With the 3.4 TBP you don't need that one anymore (as well as the 3.3a Patch, but you you know that already, don't you ;) ) so delete it and have fun playing the game.
[edit]
my spelling is terrible today Oo
-
The ships.tbl was the problem, thank you guys for helping me out. As for Drums Of war, how the hell do you beat the second mission. My destroyer always gets blown up before it can take out the enemy cruisers.

Take the fighters out before they reach the destroyer than destroy the enemy cruiser's engines (watch out for the cruiser who makes the close jump). The destroyer should have enough firepower to blow the cruisers up. You can help by destroying the enemy cruiser's weapons.
