Title: Dummy Names in FRED
Post by: Roanoke on May 04, 2007, 11:31:32 am
Karajorma mentioned this in a thread recently but I forget where it is. Anyway, can someone remind me of the figures you can put in FRED so two different ships can appear to have the same name (ingame) without FRED complaining ?

Edit: oh and has anybody got the FRED Zone Reference guide ? Ta.

Pretty much anything that's not on a standard keyboard seems to work. Load up charmap and use something from there. I typically use ¹, ², ³ or ¤.

FS2 Reference Guide (http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/fs2/refguide/fs2refguide.chm)

And the quickest way to get those symbols up is probably to press ALT and then type in four numbers on your numeric keypad. Charmap is another good way of doing it though. :)

Well, you would. Probably got those first three memorized. :p

Be warned if you use these for wingnames IE Gamma³, you'll have an awkward extra space between "Gamma" and the numeral.
