I wanted you oppinion on this one guys..
do you think foldabe fins on a fighter are usefull?
Initialy I tough of this for landing/takeoff nad storage, but could be usefull for atmospheric flight...especially if I add the ability for the whole fin to additionaly swing 45° (so it's positioned straight up like on a F-15).

F-117, F/A-18 and F-22 can fly without problems even with a non-straight rudder... this ship doesn't need to have straight fins to fly in atmosphere.
As for the fins retracting to save space: those fins don't look like they take much room, so I don't think they need to be retractable.

The one marked with 1 is the "normal" fin .. you can also see it begind the fihgter in the side view. This ships has 4 fins - 2 above and 2 below.. at lest the 2 bottom ones should fold to make landing easier...

It was just to remember only some of them... there is also the V35 Bonanza :p

Only some variants of the Bonanza had a V-tail. However, that style of tail was very popular, despite it looking stupid IMO. :)
