Title: Anyone tried Allegiance ??

is it worth downloading? Form what i understand it's quite similar to freespace.

Thats the old game published by microsoft right?

Yeah i played it, and no its not really like freespace, more of a co-operative team game. I personally didn't like it very much, was quite bored quite quickly.

It sort of needed to have a much large community to support what it wanted to achieve.

I'm playing it ATM...the community is growing and AFIK, there are upgrades on their way (new contet, better engine)

Sounds interesting. Speaking of games like FS, are there games that are similar? I find myself lacking of time and energy for strategy games nowadays.

starlancer is simiar to fs. hmmm x-wing from along time ago... there are a few around.

Starshatter - The Gathering Storm
I enables you to fly fighters and capships, and when flying a carrier you can command the whole air wing stationed on your carrier.
You can also fly atmospheric missions, and a guy in the modding board posted screens of a FS mod for SSTGS.
