Title: RealFlight FS1 1.11 - Realistic BtRL like flight physics for the FSPort
Post by: Grizzly on May 13, 2007, 01:46:33 pm
Using Sushi's velocity mod and the BtRL ships as a template, I created RealFlight physics, an attempt to add "Realistic" inertia into FreeSpace. Since I always play campaigns in chronological order and are now at FS1, I created the mod for the FSport.

and here it is (http://www.savefile.com/files/718729) Version 1.11, should work fine!
Version 1.11B (http://www.savefile.com/files/740068) Without the $Glide.

changes:
1.1:

1.11:

1.11B (fork)

Wow, already done?

We could recruit you. We need someone able to add BtRL style physics to Steadfast.

I accidantly placed the table files at a wrong location, and therefore the FS2 version was used (multimod!), when I corrected this, it didn't work correctly

I will have to fix this.

Would it be possible to enable these physics for say, one mission of a campaign? Or is that an option that would have to be added to FRED?

You would need a different shiptable for that, or do stuff like they did in FS1, duplicate entries, with inertia and without.

Version 1.11B released:

Download it here (http://www.savefile.com/files/740068)
this version has not the $Glide options, but for the rest it is the same, 1.11 is still supported.

Also *bump*, because gameplay benefits more from a mod with several changes than from just $glide tbm.  Anyone have these files stored somewhere?

thanks a heap. further investigation yielded more details about the implementation of glide. these will be most helpful.
