Title: My Mouse Freaks out!!
Post by: Chef098 on May 14, 2007, 11:45:07 pm
No matter is I use the source project or retail FS2 whenever I start to play my ship rotates in one direction constantly. When i move my mouse to counter it will slow it but it still rotates. Anyone got anything I can do to fix this?

Do you have a joystick plugged in? What kind of keyboard are you using?

I've heard of this happening a few times with certain multimedia keyboards. What's going on is that there is a part of the keyboard that is being recognised as a joystick.

This thread here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,45480.0.html) seems to describe exactly the same problem as you're getting. Only problem is that the solution is for Linux (and I assume you're on Windows).

You might want to run the debug version and then go to Freespace2\Data\ and open FS2_Open.log in notepad. Seach on the word joystick and see if the game is reporting finding one.

Ok so i figured it out. You were right about the keyboard being recognized as a joystick. So i went into the launcher and looked at the settings for the joystick and my keyboard was set as a joystick. Disabled it and voila! Thanks for the help!
