Title: New Player Question?
Post by: Hooch on May 17, 2007, 10:23:28 am
Hi All,

New player to FS2 here, never interested until I saw The B5 project yesterday "Most Impressed"!  My question is about throttle control with Joystick, I have a Saitek Cyborg 3D and I was just wondering, 3.3a support Throttle for this or any stick?

P.S. Fantastic so far, really impressed, Kudos to the Dev's.

I guess you don't mean foward throttle only ... as far as I can tell there is currently no way to map a JS axis for the thrust-controls yet...

 - would be a good point for the SCP request list -

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah, just thought I could try to map some of the "thrust" controls (guess that would be a better word) to try and replicate the more realistic newtonian physics, not that they are bad as they are.

I know I did this with Mechwarrior, I THINK I did it with FS2.  Not sure though.  I had a little throttle lever on my joystick that I mapped the throttle to.  Not sure how though

Yeah, I got the normal throttle working! The idea now is to try to map my directional thrusters to my hat switch.

Ah, Mechwarrior, I remember the controls were a nightmare for that!

yep, keyboard that is.  Once I got it all mapepd to the joystick the way I wanted, it worked fine for me.  Twist the stick to enable torso twist, look up, down, turn left, right, throttle, button 2 zoom, button 3 jumpjet, button 4 zoom in, I forgot what I had the hat do.

You should install the 3.4 beta. 3.3 is so last year.

Is it as stable as the 3.3a, the reason I didn't go for it to begin with is I had some probs with Beta's before.  But if you guys can tell me it runs cool, will do! :)
